Discouraged

Hi everyone. So, it's been almost 2 weeks since I've been cleared for my surgery, and I haven't heard a peep from Lois or Dr. Aranow. I sent an email last week - no response. Sent another one yesterday - nothing yet. Tried to call - constantly busy. I'm done and ready to go. I'm just bummed that I haven't heard from anyone - I really thought I'd hear from someone as soon as I was cleared. It's so hard to plan for things - hubby has to take vacation, I need time off from work, I have 3 kids that need to be taken care of while I'm away, etc. I can't make any arrangements until I hear from them. In addition, I don't even know if I have insurance approval - I don't think it's been submitted yet. Just wanted to vent. Thanks for listening. Tammy

Tammy, Dont be discouraged. Keep trying to call the office and speak with Lois. Sometimes you get lost in the shuffle because they are sooo busy but just keep on trying. They may have already submitted to the insurance and are waiting to hear from them before they get back to you. In any case-youve come this far-just be a little bit more patient. Fondly, Elaine

Thanks Elaine. I just got off the phone with someone from the office. The nutritionist still has my file from 2 weeks ago - she has to do her write up, then it goes to Dr. Aranow for his write up, then it goes to the office staff for insurance approval, etc. ugh. I'll keep calling - because I really think you do get lost in the shuffle if you don't make a tiny noise (I'm not aggresive, but I'll remind them I'm here!).

How frustrating!! I'm glad you got a hold of someone to remind them you are waiting. It is very difficult to make arrangements for a family, especially if either your employer or your husbands requires a set notice (like 30 days). This process can be very frustrating and seems to take forever. Just hang in there, as soon as you get your date time will FLY!!!! Good luck, Carmen

Hey Tammy, Hang in there, Hun. This is the toughest time of the entire process, believe me! Call Eilina, see what the hold-up is on her end, and keep calling. Squeeky wheel... In the meanwhile, remember, I'll be more than happy to watch the kiddos whenever you need it. Ray might need a break now and then, and thats when you'll call me up and I'll come right over! Ethan keeps asking for you...he keeps saying "Tammy" and "tummy"...which we know is teletubbies! Did I tell you they creep me out?? Hang in there. Keep calling... -Deb

Thanks Deb. I know I'll get my date eventually - it's just so close!!! Thanks for offer to babysit. "You've got mail!" Bet you didn't think I'd be asking so soon, eh? You know what creeps me out? The Wiggles. The 4 grown men dancing like they are on something illegal, I swear!!!

Hang in there Tammy... I have been feeling a bit discouraged myself... and I am not even close to being done because I have to see Elina 5 times per my insurance. I know a little how you feel and it just seems like the day is never going to come. BUT~~~ We will both be sitting on the losing bench with all the rest and saying... "I cant believe how fast this all happened." Hugs.... Beckie

Hang in there Tammy. Try not to let it get to you. By the posts on this board, it has been a very busy office. You can find out about your apporval by calling your insurance company and asking if they've received the request and has it been approved. This way you'll know if it's been submitted. Keep the faith, your day will come soon. Maggie

Hi Tammy Hang in there! Once everyone submits their report, Lois will contact insurance. She'll get to you as soon as your insurance company gives the green light. I was certainly the most stressed around this time. Once I got my date everything was a breeze. Life is good! Best of luck Carolyn
