crushable cholesterol meds?

what have you guys done about taking cholesterol lowering meds?? all the ones ive researched CANT be crushed.. and dont come in liquid...... my surgery is scheduled for thursday..... any input??? thanks..

I'm not sure about cholesterol meds, but at my 2 week check-up I was told I could cut 1 of my pils ito small pieces (4-6 from each tablet). I was having a very difficult time with the crushing, so this was the only way I could get the pill down. I would check with your Dr, but maybe you could try it that way..... Carmen

You may be instructed that you don't need to take it at all after surgery. Please chek with your surgeon though. It's pretty common to just plain stop some meds right after surgery. I took meds for GERD and Hypertension which I never took again the day after surgery. Just a thought... Best, Lisa
