Just to let you know scrambeled eggs are very hard to tolerate....

two things I liked a lot when on the mushy food stage were noodleless lasagna and refried beans\\

for the noodleless lasagna take a little ricotta cheese and put it in the bottom of a small microwavable bowl - put a layer of spaghetti sauce next and then top it off with some shredded cheese - I like monteray jack - then microwave it on a medium setting until the cheese on top melts - about a minute or so.....

the other thing I enjoyed was take some fat free refried beans and make a layer in a microwaveable bowl - put a small bit of salsa and top with shredded cheese of choice - microwave until the cheese on top melts....

Also - the magic bullet blender was very helpful during the mushy food stage - chicken salad, tuna salad, guacomole....

Oh yeah another thing I really liked was to take an avocado with some ricotta or cottage cheese and little bit of roasted chilli pepper - a splash of lemon juice and some garlic salt and blend it in the magic bullet.........

hope this helps!

You can try: *  Sugar Free popsicles *  Sugar Free Hawaiin Ice.Snow Cones - check around online - got mine from amazon - for a ice shaver/Hawaiian ice maker.  Then get the sugar free syrup for them.  I saw them today at Target.  This was a godsend to me.  My kids liked them also, so it was a fun family thing to try out. *  FAGE yogurt - I cannot stand regular yogurt, but I found FAGE (greek) yogurt and I fell in love with it.   *  Sugar free pudding and jello Checkout Eggface's plog - lots of recipes.  http://theworldaccordingtoeggface.blogspot.com/2007/08/puree d-foods.html I liked the ricotta cheese bake the best when I was a newly postop.

My absolute favorite mushy food was pureed ****tail shrimp with a bit of ****tail sauce...I ate with these little baby food spoons from Walmart (10 in a package), and just savored the wonderful flavor...If you like shrimp ****tail Wendy's chili, mushed up... Ricotta cheese (add splenda for a sweet treat or sauce for an italian flavor) Stay away from the carbs, like potatoes, hot cereals, fruit, etc.  Focus on mushed protein at this stage, it's hard enough to get it in as it is without filling your pouch with unwanted carbs... Dr Aranow and Dr Barba differ on this at this stage, I believe... Make sure you are weighing ALL of your food...get small bowl/containers to put your food in so it seems like you're getting more food than you really are...but, in face, you're probably filling up quickly at this point. Do a search on this page for "puree foods" and you'll get a TON of ideas.  People on this site are very creative and have come up with some really creative things to eat. Make sure you're getting in all your fluids, and at least (more for a man) 65 gms of protein a day.  This is the most important thing at this stage.  All other food at this point is a moot point.  Protein will help you to heal, and keep your hair healthy and your body from leeching the protein from your muscles. Good luck! Keep asking questions of us, we all have been where you are, and IT DOES GET EASIER!!! Paula

I would crave Italian food so I used to put some ricotta cheese in a small bowl and add a little bit of spaghetti sauce and heat it in the microwave.  It sounds weird but it tasted so great, especially since I was tired of "sweet" things like the shakes, yogurt and Crystal Light.

Matt, Try refried fat free beans with melted cheese & no fat/low fat sour cream.. that was my favorite. YUMMY! Also ricotta cheese with tomatoe sauce & melted cheese was good.   I still eat both to this day as a snack.   Puddings are good along with tapioca (sugar free)  Atkins has a new brand out in the dairy section.. They are sooooo good.  I couldn't eat tuna (allergic) but the all white canned chicken breast with mayo worked for me.. make sure it's mashed really well.   Cream of wheat & grits also go down well (make them a little looser by adding more water or milk) I put a little lower fat butter & seasoned with salt/pepper for something a little more "hearty" I'd steer clear of Oatmeal right now. Hope this helps, Mickey
