Gallbladder Ultrasound

Hi, everyone! Yesterday morning I had my gallbladder ultrasound. I have no gallstones, so that's a little more weight that I'll be holding onto. What does a gallbladder weigh, anyway? Seriously though, in the long run, is this good news or not? Am I more likely to have problems after a rapid weight loss if I still have my gallbladder? While I was at Dr. A.'s office, I asked to be weighed. In the week since I saw him for my first appointment, I've lost 2.1 pounds! Now I just have to make sure that I don't gain any back over the weekend, since I have my first appointment with Elina (the dietician) on Monday morning. Debby

Hi Debby, I went to Pre op edcation class about surgery. The nurse said for people who still have Gallbladder, The dr will give us something pill to help prevent for gall stones . I do not have gall stones ethier. You are not alone! That is great you lost few pounds and keep it down!!! Hugs Kathy K

Hi Debby, Glad your u/s went well. Hope Malissa treated you well. I had my GB out in 1995..so had no worries about that. It was nice talkign to you the other night on the phone. You are on your way!! Hugs Joanie
