I went to my PCP last night after 2 weekends of not being able to walk (due to swollen knee) and he gave me a steroid injection (cortisone maybe?). He suggested I switch to nexium (open pills and mix w/ applesauce) for a couple of weeks instead of pecid. Has anyone heard of an injection affecting the pouch?? Thanks, Carmen

Hi carmen! I've never heard of an injection effecting the pouch...but you know, steroids are funny things. They tend to effect ALOT. I'm guessing your Dr. thinks so, since he has you going to a stronger antacid...but, you probably should ask him why and how he thinks it effects the pouch. I hope you get some relief from the pain. Take care, Lisa C

The pain is better today, and this shot should last a while (yeah). I really don't think my Dr knows much about the pouch, so I will probably call Dr Valins office. Thanks, Carmen

Hello Carmen, Why were your knees swollen? My arthritis since the surgery has been great. Im 6 months out now. But I've developed something that has nothing to do with surgery thats a royal pain in the you know what! My right foot is numb and the left is partially numb. I can walk but trip alot. Had blood work just to make sure that i'm obsorbing vitamns &B12 which I'm doing just fine so that wasn't an issue. Now I am waitng to see what the specialist says. Might be my bad back acting up due to the drastic (almost 90 pounds) in a short time. I feel wonderful and keep forgetting that I have a bad back! How long has it been for you since surgery? good luck & god bless, pam
