Waterbury area

Hi all, Just wondering if I could find someone who has had lapband surgery in the waterbury, ct area, which doctor did you use and any advice.. thanks so much for all you help Ann

hi Ann well im not from waterbury and i havnt had the band. but i do go to a dr in hartford (st francis hospital) and im going to have the bypass with him soon iv met him 1 time so far and on wensday will be the 2nd time he is great and i have a friend on here Jen she had it done with him too and iv heard a lot of great thing about him. if u look on my profile it has his name im not to sure on how to spell it :) hope this helps alittle and good luck

Hi Ann, I am from Cheshire now but I lived in Waterbury for 50 years! As far as I know the only Doctor in Waterbury is Dr Richi. He is a very well known surgeon but I don't know how long he has been doing bariatric surgery.  My surgeon is Dr Valin in New Haven. I actually haven't met him yet but his office staff and wife Debbie have been terrific so far. He came highly  recommended by my endocrinologist. Good luck in deciding on who to use.  Cheryl

 

Hi Ann, I'm from Bristol. I had my RNY with Dr. Darren Tishler at Hartford Hospital. He is amazing. He also does the band. He has been doing the surgery for along time now. And has done many of both sugeries. He saved my life dramatically. If you need anymore information. Feel free to write me. good luck, Stacie

Dr. Keith Zuccala does RNYs.....maybe he does lapbands too.  But he's in Danbury, which isn't a bad trip from Waterbury. He's at Danbury Hospital which is practically right off the highway. I'm terrible with directions but he was easy to find. It's been several years for me and I've never had a problem, other than gastritis but I love my coffee and spicy foods!

Hi Ann, I am from the Waterbury area. I got my Lap Band in December through Fairfield County Bariatrics. Dr. Timothy Ehrlich did the surgery. Most of their office staff has had weight loss surgery, so they have all been there, done that... The waiting time for office visits, surgery is less than most other doctors I contacted. Dr. Ehrlich has performed more lap bands than most doctors in our state. Dr. Ehrlich's office is in Bridgeport and Norwalk, however he will be opening a WATERBURY OFFICE in the near future!!!!! I can't wait. He now operates out of St. Vincent's Hospital in Bridgeport (where his office is located) and Norwalk Hospital where I had my surgery. It's not far from a Route 8 South exit. It is for people who have had and are thinking of having surgery. There is plenty of information given but the people who have had Lap Band and gastric by-pass surgery. I know Dr. Tichler ( I think that's how it's spelled) does lapband at Hartford Hosp. I have heard nothing but good things about him. My hubby and I have a friend who went with him so we are hearing about it first hand. Good luck picking a doc. I think it is the most important decision you can make. Well, after the decision to take your life back.

I live in Waterbury Dr Zuccala in Danbury did my RnY. The reason I chose his was that I worked at the hospital and was seeing his work the good and bad. He didnt know I worked there so there was no special treatment. But it's been 4years and he still checks up on me even through my pregnacy when I had to go to the ER he came in to check on my for amy problems. He's a great Dr.
