What to bring to the hospital????
Hi Kathy,
Dont forget pictures of your kids! ethan is my angel, my reason, and I wanted him with me during surgery to watch over me so I brought his picture and Dr Aranow had it clipped to my johnny. He was there with me through the entire surgery!
Just one of those things that won't make your hospital stay any better, but it'll make YOU feel better, and thats what it's all about!
Peace,
-Deb

Kathy
you are soooo organized....I was stuffing suff in a bag an hour before I
left for the hospital.
I used exactly nothing in that bag....my husbaand took it home with him
and forgot it.....I only stayed overnight so it was not a big deal,
the only thing I wished I had was a backscratcher....one of the pain
meds made me very itchy and it would have come in handy to reach for things.
I was very comfortable temperature wise( I am always hot) there are
heaters/air conditioners in each room at midddlesex hosp.

Kathy,
I brought my birkenstock sandals to the hospital. They were better than the hospital slippers for getting around. My room was nice and cool (air conditioning) so I didn't need a fan, but I know some people bring a fan.
I also made sure I brought a pre-paid calling card to use to call my family-as all the calls were long distance. I brought some magazines and a book. Other than that, the rest of the stuff went home with Sandy and came back when she came to pick me up-clothes, wallet, etc.
Make sure you have all your stuff for when you get home....protein drinks, applesauce, yogurt, etc. The wet wipes and the tongs were a GODSEND!
Do you have a recliner? That was where I slept early on. I couldn't handle getting in and out of bed.
I told you the time was going to pass quickly! Next thing you know, you're going to be on the melting side!

60lbs GONE!
Hi Ann,
Thank you for a wonderful feedback! YES!!!!!! My mom got to call Medical store and got me to rent a recliner chair for 48.00 per monthly. I am going to medical store to buy Bottom Buddy (personal hygiene Toileity aid) and know it will be very helpful to use it at hospital and at home too. I will make sure my mom to get a pre-paid calling card because I told my daugther that I promised her that I will talk with her over the phone with my mom's help ( i cannot hear the phone but my daugther wants to hear my voice!) Looking forward your visit at my house after my surgery!
