My first Post-op meal!
Well, I met with Debby this afternoon, and she advanced me to purees (yeah!!!!). I didn't get a chance to go to the store, so I scrambles an egg w/ a little cheese, YUMMY. The problem is, I want more, but I can feel the eggs in my chest (I only had 5-6 baby bites!). This sure is a mental challenge!!!
I was also weighed and am down a total of 17 lbs, 8 of which is since the morning of surgery. I am a little dissapointed, but I guess 8lbs in 12 days is nothing to complain about!
I also mentioned my adversion to protein shakes, she reccomended Isopure drinks, the clear fruit flavored ones. Any feedback on those or any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
Carmen
Carmen:
You are doing great!!! I do not like the clear Isopure drinks. They pack a great amount of protein but are very chalky afterwards. They have a funny after taste. I would just buy one and try it DON't buy the whole case just yet. I find the colder they are the more tolerable they are. I like the Isopure powder in zero carb. Everyone's taste is different so just try one. They sell them at GNC and Vitamin shoppe. (that I know of)
Best of luck to you.

Carmen- you're doing great! Don't be disappointed. 8 lbs in 12 days is PERFECTLY WONDERFUL.
YOu're right it's a big mental challenge to get over the loss of QUANTITY! If you feel the food in your chest, then you've definately eaten a few bites too many. Try to avoid that feeling! Hard to believe you could get stuffed from 5 to 6 bites, isn't it? Dont worry you'll get used to it.
Keep up the good work!

Carmen --
Congratulations!! You're doing just great!
When you feel the pressure in your chest, that's a signal to slow down. I still get it once in awhile.
I got Nectar Fuzzy Navel protein drink -- it's actually pretty tolerable. 90 calories per scoop, no fat, no sugar, no carbs -- the perfect food!!
Good luck -- come back with any and all questions!
