Time Frame - Dr. A.

Hi guys, I have a quick question for Dr. Aranow's patients. I am meeting with the dietician on Friday. If I've lost the weight they have told me to lose, everything gets submitted to the insurance company. All my other tests are done. Once you get insurance approval (which I know is impossible to predict as far as time frame goes), how far out is the surgery date scheduled? I'm feeling like it may be quicker than I thought, and I'm trying to get my ducks in a row. Any input would be very helpful! Thanks! P.S. I can't believe it's almost here!

Hi Tammy, I was submitted and approved to the insurance company the day after I met with Elina (Sept. 22nd). My surgery is tomorrow. Hold on to your hat!!!!! Good luck, Lori

Hi Deb Did you go somewhere to celebrate your 1st anniversary? CONGRATS on your 1st anniversary on Oct 6th (this Wednesday)!!!! I remember I first met you last March at gathering party. Tammy, It has been 4 1/2 weeks since I finished everything including making the weight requirement. I am still waiting for a surgery date. I was told that after Dr A signs off on your chart..it goes to Lois and then she submits in order of your visit to the Doc. I had everything done within a few weeks of seeing Him and that was in July. I had to lose the weight and I did by Sept 2. I still have not heard. I sure hope your wait is substantially shorter than mine seems to be but with summer and vacations and stuff it has to be hard for Lois to schedule so many people. Hi Tammy, I had been waited for 3 and 1/2 weeks before I got my surgery date. It depends on Dr Aranow how busy he is. Good Luck! Kathy K

I had insurance approval on July 21st and was scheduled for surgery on August 18th, which is exactly four weeks. Get your ducks in a row now because once you are scheduled time does go by very fast! Eileen
