Survey Question for Post OPS
Just wondering. .. how long did it take from the time you went to the information session to actually get the surgery and if it was a prolonged time what were the reasons. I think I'm moving at a pretty fast rate. My informational session was on 9/9. I had my psychiatric eval on 9/28 (passed). I had my cardiologist appt on 10/1 and passed. My first nutritioinal consulation is on 10/6 and my pulmonary consult is 10/13. I don't think I'll have a problem with my insurance. I have Anthem BC/BS.
I went to my the informational session on March 30th and could have had the surgery in mid May, but I was on vacation at that time. I ended up having it in July.
My surgeon is Dr. Valin and his office processes things fast if you show that you are motivated, follow their instructions and schedule your appointments quickly.

I'm trying to do things as quick as possible just because I'm already on leave from work so I might as well kill two birds with one stone. I'm keeping my fingers and toes crossed that this surgery can happen within the next two months. I might even cross my tongue too. .. I think that might be a good technique to lose weight before the surgery. ..lol
I had my seminar in March and I had surgery in August. So five months for me. I had Dr. Aranow and I think his process is actually getting a little faster than it used to be. I had to wait two months from the time of the seminar to my consult and now I think that time is about a month or so. Good luck, it will happen sooner than you might think!

It depends on how busy your surgeon is. I went to my first meeting in October of 2003 and had to wait until Jan '04 for my consult because he was so busy. I didn't have my surgery until May. All my appointments with dietian and phys. eval, etc. were done and I was waiting & waiting to here from them.
Good luck! Hopefully you won't have to wait as long as me!!!!
