Hello Everyone, Wow this board has been sooooo active this week that its been really hard to keep up with everyone....... First let me welcome all you newbies. You have found a great place to hang out. This board is incredibly supportive and full of good information and just darn friendly . To all of you who have surgery coming up this month I wish you as uneventful and pain free sugery as possible. This is such an exciting time n your life and the beginning of a wild ride. Hold on to your hats and enjoy!! And to all the rest of you no matter where you are in your jouneys, I thank you all for being there for me and each other through thick and thin.......(no pun intended there......). Keep up the great work, stay strong, patient and enjoy every day. I have a busy weekend ahead.....two parties on Saturday and don't know if I will make both of them. Of course there is water aerobics on Saturday also. . I have gotten back to the gym and feel better that I have. My week has been pretty good eating wise but am still on this damn plateau. I wasn't letting it bother me for a long time but now after 2 months I am getting crazy. I know this is normal so I will take a deep breath and relax......hmmm........me relaxing???? can't picture that. I did resend my pic to the OH volunteers since the wedding one seems to have disappeared. We shall see what happens this time. Work is crazy, I love my new car (red Honda CRV) and there are not enough hours in the day to get everything done I want to. Oh I picked up my tickets for Cancun yesterday. I am going Nov. 6th-13th to the Grand Oasis. This is my one year anniversary present to myself . I can't wait. Of course I am not thrilled about having Sharpei Legs in my bathing suits but I love the water more than I care what I look like. Hows that for an attitude?? Have a great weekend everyone and enjoy what is left of the nice weather. I fear we are in store for a nasty winter. Gots to buy me some winter clothes. Don't have any left from before!! Cold Water Creek here I come....... Linda

Hi Linda I went out yesterday and did two big layaways of winter clothes. I fear the same thing you do, that we are in for a rough and cold one. I still need a coat. I'm doing ok. My back keeps me limited and I'm missing working out like crazy. I start physical therapy on Tuesday for four weeks. Hopefully this will help and I can get back to a normal way of living. I had a job interview yesterday and I'm praying I get it. It is the perfect job for me. Part time with flexible hours and I can work half the time from home. Keep your fingers crossed for me please. I've plateaued a bit I'm guessing due to the lack of activity these past few weeks. I'm ok with that as long as the scale doesn't move up. My inlaws will be visiting this weekend from New York. We usually have a great time with them so I'm looking forward to it. Hope all have a great weekend. Maggie

Good morning everyone! October is here already! This year has really flown by, hasn't it? I am so so happy to report that I finally have no parties to attend this weekend!! I am taking my daughter to her karate class on Saturday, which is just starting up now after the summer off. Besides that, I have NOTHING planned!! YEAH!! I will catch up putting pictures in our photo album; I also desperately need to go thru my closet and dresser to pull out the clothes that are too big now! I am so looking forward to this weekend, I love to just putter around the house, and I haven't been able to for so long. On the weight loss front, I am 4 months out now, and down 77 pounds. I am very happy with my progress. I am exercising 5 days a week now, and am fitting into most size 18's... I have a couple that are still tight in the belly, and I swore I would not wear too tight pants ever again, so those are waiting in my dresser...After that I will need to buy smaller sizes! I feel really healthy, I have no aches and pains, no fatigue like when I was pre-op. It is amazing, and I am very grateful. Well, have a great weekend everyone!! Anne

Linda and everyone, Linda....you will break that plateau soon..give it a chance..looks like everything else is great and have fun for me in Cancun...no one can see ur legs in the water..and congrats on the new car !!! Maggie....good luck with your back, my hubby is going thru the same thing with two herniated disks and physical therapy etc...doc said yesterday unless he wants to do surgery he has to live with it and he has reached his maximum so.... off to a disability rating and looking for a different kind of job for him..just take it easy and dont over do it because it will never get better Anne...isnt it great to just sit????? i cant wait tili the weekend, i am trying to crochet a blankie and i need the time to just sit and do it, but i never get time either..always on the go !! as for me........well i told my dilema yesterday..ended up with dr. bell's office being able to pencil me in a surgery date of Dec 9th but dont get excited, because i cannot do it due to this new job..my boss who was going to leave dec 20th has decided to leave nov 30th..so i will have to wait til jan or feb..and try to work it around the companies schedule..this job is important to me..$$$ wise so i can wait a few more months..more than likely i wouldnt have been scheduled for surgery til jan or feb anyway as my educational meeting is in 20 days !...so we left it at if someone cancels in November, i may get that date....or i wait..its okay though..good things come to those who wait?...mom and dad sold the house..and are going to look at houses in maine in two weeks..their closing is nov 30th..mom said she would come down for my surgery and we will be callig each other every day for while...hubby and i are looking at places to rent, because houses are way too much right now..and other than that...everything else is the same hope everyone has a great weekend Deanna

Linda, That is a really great reward for yourself, and well deserved! Who cares about your legs, just have fun!!! As far as winter, I haven't put much thought into it. I never wear a heavy coat, but I may need one this year w/ less insulation on my body. I have some smaller clothes which I hoping to be able to wear, but I am sure I will need more! Good luck with the job Maggie! I really hope you get it! I am glad to hear that you are starting to feel better. Hang in there the PT should make a big diffrence. As for my weekend, not too much planned. We are taking my daughter to the park for a picnic and walk tomorrow, she had to miss her "Teddy Bear Walk" with nursery school last week because of my surgery so we are going to try to make it up to her. Since I feel so good, a little walk in the park will be great! Sunday my husbands family is coming over for cake and maybe lunch if I feel like it. I will gag down another protein shake and drool! I am still having trouble getting my pills in, they are just so nasty, they ruin everything! And I am already sick of protein drinks, or anything sweet for that matter. Soup and broth are rather enjoyable though. I can't wait for something w/ a little texture! Have a great weekend everyone! Carmen
