getting started

I went to Dr. Aranow's seminar last night and enjoyed it so much that I could have sat there all night listening to him speak. Today I called his office in Middletown at 8:30 am and never got through til 11:30 am. It took me 3 hours of hitting the redial button to finally get through and get my frist appointment for Nov. 12th. I am going to go to the Meeting next monday at Middlesex Hospital and maybe I'll finally meet some of you. Thanks, Cindy

Wow..you didn't have to wait long for your appt! I went to my seminar on Oct 14 last yr..called the next day and got an appt at the end of January! Hope everything goes this smoothly! Joanie

Cindy, Congratulations on making a first step to a new you! I had my first meeting with Dr. Aranow on November 11th last year and now I am post op 1 1/2 weeks. (Don't worry, It won't take you that long, I put my surgery on hold for a few months to adopt our 2nd daughter.) Best wishes on your journey! Terri

Hi Peter, I am feeling really well... much better than I had expected just a week and a half out. I am doing my walking every day and getting in my fluids and tolerating milk and everything seems to be going down smoothly so far. I am really looking forward to eating real food again and chewing! Yes, chewing will be nice. I go to my 2 week appt. with Dr. A today so maybe I will be graduated to stage 4 a little early. Thanks for asking!! Terri

Hi Cindy I am glad you chose Dr Aranow and you are in good hands from him. I am few weeks ahead to have RNY surgery from him. I remember you prefer bandgers but whatever it is you are on right path. I will be at support group on Oct 11th but have other plan on Oct 4th. Looking forward to meet you on Oct 11 if you can be there! Take care, Kathy K

Well, part of that was the fact that the office does not open until 9:15 or 9:30. Then they take the phone off the hoo****il they finish calling everyone back that left messages with the answering service overnight. Mext Monday's meeting is the pre-op class only. Just an FYI. The next regular meeting is scheduled for October 11th. Peter
