My Tests today

Hello All, Had my tests today at Rockville Hospital on my "twisted intestines" & gall bladder. Ultra sound showed one very nasty rock hard gall bladder... Had a bunch of Xrays done on my intestines etc... drank the lovely chalk & back & forth for more pictures. The Xray Dr. was showing me everything.. said he was looking for an obstruction.  I told him that I was here for an intersussession (something like that can't spell).  Said he could'nt locate it or find it???  What the heck? Stated "maybe it worked itself out..because I don't see it."  My mouth dropped... I said the C-scan on Friday clearly showed it & that was why I was sent for more testing.. he said "I don't see it."   After everything I've been through with this hospital I have no clue what to believe.. I actually have a disk of everything & took a look at the C-scan I'm not a Dr but when something shows pretty large & black compared to everything else.. it's pretty obvious there's a problem.   I'll be seeing Dr Barba on Thursday with all of this material & we'll see what he says.. My son commented last night .. MOM YOU'RE getting SKINNY... (not that I wasn't before however my bones are starting to show under the skin.)  Kind of hard not to when you're not eating. The burning is now a twisting, uncomfortable pulling sensation... & my left side especially under my rib cage feels like a "rock".  *with occasional "burning" after eating.  The chalk drink wreaked havoc with my system today so couldn't eat.  Tried a few bites of soup and a little sugar free pudding.. had to stop as it didn't want to play nice. One more day to go so hopefully I can hang in there.   Have a slew of questions written down... My intestines & pouch are constantly "talking" gurgling and all sorts of noises.  Sounds like a party. My concern.. Why does a C-scan show it... I obviously am having issues and the GI series they can't locate it?  Or maybe because the XRay Dr isn't a gastric Dr... so maybe he's just guestimating? Oh the kicker.. everyone in the family is coming out & calling saying "See what happens" you had the surgery & now look at you.. UGH.. now that's support.. I keep reiterating this has nothing to do with my  WLS however family just loves a good story & gossip. Stay tuned for another exciting ephisode of as "Mickey's pouch churns"  Mickey

Hi Mickey - I am so sorry you are going through this.  You deserve to have answers and be on the mend to recovery....not sitting in agony wondering what the hell is going on.  What does your gut instinct tell you?  You really need to listen to it.  I am assuming you are going to RGH bc it is close to you.  Maybe it's time to plant yourself in the ER at St. Francis and make them figure it all out with Barba while you are there...isn't his office in the medical building?  My heart goes out to you bc I can imagine the internal struggle you have going on right now - I know I'd be not wanting to **** off my surgeon but being upset about my condition and the lack of honest answers.  I'd be really concerned about why my surgeon told me after surgery that he had to remove my gallbladder and here you are now with a diseased gallbladder???  Maybe it is time to switch surgeons - you deserve to be pain free and on the road to recovery - NO ONE deserves to be going through what you are going through.  I know that several others have given you their perspective on their surgeon...I feel compelled to tell you that my surgeon gives out his pager number to all of his patients - you don't go through a middle man to get in touch with him in an emergency...when he is paged, he calls back within minutes - trust me, been there, done that.  I am just appalled at what you've been going through...get better soon, ok?

I was wondering about the gallbladder too. I have no clue what to tell you other than you are keeping your spirits up it sounds like and that is a plus. Good luck tomorrow with Dr, B. Oh and how cool is it that Dr. Raft gives his pager number out?

I shall now be know as Hagatha: Queen of the queens.

Best of luck to you. I am so sorry you're family is choosing your time of suffering to attempt to prove a point.
