Okay...i have to vent because im going crazy...and i know i can rely on everyone here to let me vent.. Yesterday was the day from .......... my parents have sold their house and are moving to Maine on November 30th ..i am very close to my mom and am basically devastated, although i know it will be okay...its just i been within 5 miles of her for the last 34 years...guess there comes a time to cut the cord huh???? I also yesterday had an opportunity for a new position at work. it would mean a pay raise..dont know how much yet because the bigwigs arent in until monday to discuss that....but it will also mean postponing my surgery until im not sure when..my boss is going to be leaving in December to have a baby and what the company does not know is that she is not coming back..i will be sharing the responsibility with another guy in the office who we really dont know what he is doing...but anyway...my surgery will probably be scheduled between jan and feb adn that is when she is going to be out..but she will not be back..so im not sure what i am going to do but ill have to wait at least til spring to have the surgery im sure..which makes me upset...i have called dr bells office and i emailed them too....we will see Deanna

Deanna, I know the emotional stress about your Mom moving...my sister moved to Florida this week. The job promotion...sounds great. You need to do what is right for you there. Postponing surgery...is a downer..but you need to prioritize here. A few months won't make any difference..use the time to get in the mindset for the huge life changes you are going through with family, your job and your surgery. Hope it all works out...I will be sending positive thoughts. Hugs, Joanie

Deanna, Congrats on your job and it will be better to feel less stress in the spring to have this surgery than being alot of stress in winter time but time will go by fast. We all root for you and support you through until spring time. you cna walk outside after your surgery in spring time. I will have to use my trend mill excerise in winter time. I do understand about your feeling about your mom but use on line to talk with her everyday and make a phone call on weekend to chat with her then go up visit beautiful Maine up there. Things will work it out itself. Hugs Kathy K

Best of both worlds....maybe. As far as work goes, take the position but with the understanding that in Jan or Feb you need 2 weeks off to have your surgery. Remind them that this will allow you to be an even better enployee, so it is win-win. Peter

Boy, what a rough day for you! I live very far from my family and only seem them every year or 2, sometimes less. At least your mom willbe close enough to visit regularly! As for the job, wait and talk to Dr Bell's office to see what they say, and also wait to see what kind of pay raise is involved. It is alot to concider, but make sure you are happy with the choice you make. A promotion and pay raise does not come along often, and surgery will still be there, if you can wait! Good Luck, Carmen

Hi Deanna, Take the promotion - and congratulations! Now - the next thing is to have the surgery when you are scheduled - do NOT postpone it. They can live without you at work, and the work will be there when you get back. You'll only be gone for a few weeks - they will survive! Also, keep in mind, they cannot tell you when to take time off for a surgery, and they cannot make your promotion a condition of when you take your surgery. I'm sure it will all work out perfectly for you. God Bless, Kathy Bilodeau

Just know two things: Everything happens for a reason and Time flies!! If you postpone your surgery, it will be here before you know it. I have elected to postpone my surgery until Dec (barring insurance issues) and with the holiday season being so busy, waiting three more months is nothing. Good Luck with your new position. Phyllis
