My First Fill
Hey everyone,
I had my first fill today with Dr. Aranow. I am proud to announce that it was the hardest fill he ever did, lol. Figures I would get that lovely distinction, lol. He had to poke me between 10-12 times to get it right. I just stopped counting after a while. Finally had to do it under x-ray and then there was still trouble getting it. Thankfully, it really didn't hurt very badly at all. A little sting here and pinch here but all in all a piece of cake. The next one should be a breeze compared to this.
The good news is that I think I finally feel a bit of restriction!! Woohoo! I have heard that sometimes it takes a couple of days for the real restricition to set in and I hope to be even more restricted in a few days. It's been really hard having the surgery but still feeling just about as hungry as before.
The other good news is that I asked Dr. A if since my husband had attended his group seminar with me if he had to attend it again. He told me no. So I made a appt. for Marc to have a consult with Dr. A on November 3rd! He is getting really excited about the possibility of him having the surgery as well.
I just wanted to add in closing that my tough time with the fill today should no way reflect Dr. A's skill level. He is an excellent doctor and surgeon but I just have a lot of fat on my abdomen which made it difficult to do the fill. I have all the faith in the world with Dr. Aranow

Thank you Debby.
Marc has only considered the band. I don't think he would go through with having the RNY. I asked Dr. A yesterday if he had banded many men and how their success was because when I had my consult with Dr. Valin a few years ago he told me that men didn't do very well with the band. Dr. A told me that his male banded patients do better than his female bandsters. He said his male patients generally have a harder time with portion control versus being sweet eaters so they do better with the band.
