I Quit Smoking Tomorrow

Okay, so the inner voice inside of me is scared to death but I have made tomorrow my quit date for smoking. I have my patches and my finger foods to help me through. I just don't want any major complications from WLS because I smoke. On the positive side, I had my psych eval yesterday and she approved me and my cardio, pulmonary and nutritional evals are all coming up within the next two weeks. Hopefully I'll be on the losers side soon! I just want to say how much I appreciate this site and everyone that contributes to it. I lurk around a lot but everyone here seems real caring. Good luck to all! Delicia

Tammy You can do it ...I have been smoke free for six years after forty years of smoking. Just a tip drink lots and lots of water it helps get the nicotine out of your body. my thoughts will be with you....just take it one day at a time. good luck angel

Good Luck Delicia!!! It is such an important thing to do prior to surgery. Most surgeons won't operate on you if you do smoke. I quit 3 years ago and I feel SO much better now! Good luck again!

Good luck! I know it is very hard. I was a smoker on and off for years and have finally given up for good before surgery. My hubby was also a smoker for 23 years and it will be 1 year soon since he quit! He still craves one every now and then, but he doesn't give in. He used Commit Tabs to help him, he said they worked pretty well. Lots of luck! Christine

Ok, 24 hours since my last cigarette! The longest time I've ever gone without a cigarette. So far I have scrubbed all the floors in my house, went on 3 walks and rearranged the cabinets in my kitchen. When is this misery going to be over or at least a little better? Oh well, at least there's no smoky smell in my house.
