Ok I took Melissa B.'s example in another post and went to Linens and Things to use the scale and see if I had lost any weight. I weighed 386.4 when I went to see Elina about 3 weeks ago so I have to buy those expenisve scales to weigh myself. Well I got on a weigh****ers one and it said I weighed 370 so I got on a homedic one and it said I weighed 380.6 so I went and walked around and and came back and got on conair weigh****chers one and this one said I weighed 368.6. I got back on it 2 more times and it said the same thing. I have been execrising almost everday(36 mins on treadmill and 5 times around local track) and wearing the support stockings by jobst which has made my legs, ankles, and feet smaller. Do I believe these scales, does anyone know how accurate they are. I have to lose 20 pounds before my surgery and if the last scale is correct I am well on my way. What do you guys think. I want to be happy but at the same time I am so fearful. Another note, people around me say I look smaller and healthier but I do not see it. Please Help

I think you should have thrown all of those scales out the window! How frustrating. But, we know consumer scales don't weigh accurately over 300. Heck- I'm not even sure they weigh all that accurately under 300! Often times when you see an 'expensive' scale, it's not because it's any better at weighing. It's more likely because of the design, and wuality of the materials they use. So...maybe you could take the weights and average them! No, seriously- ignore them all and wait to weigh at your next Dr. appt, ar ask if you can go to use their scale. You're sticking with the program. You're doing your part. Keep up the good work! Hi I agreed wiht Lisa C. I am still fearing to go weight myself then I will be upset to find out how much I weight so I prefer to weight at Dr Aranow's office because I trust this kind of weight scale at his office than buying scales at home . Believe it or not I throw my weight sclae away from home because it drove me crazy Kathy K

Hi LaToya, I also had to lose 20 lbs for Dr. Aranow and believe me when I tell you, JUST KEEP DOING WHAT YOU ARE DOING and stop worrying about the scales. The exercise that you describe is fantastic! If your food intake is half as good, I'm sure that you will reach your goal in no time. Keep at it and keep your chin up. Lori

How frustrating!! I don't know what to tell you about the scales, except wait until you go to the Dr office. It is so hard not knowing how you are doing when you are trying so hard!! Any of the reading are down from your starting weight, and it sounds like you are right on track (no pun intended), so be patient until your next visit! Carmen
