My "Uncle", the dog in Ohio, died during the night.

I got the call this am that he died during the night in his sleep. I missed him the most since you don't really have interaction with a dog on the phone. I had to leave all my family in Ohio when I moved here and that included him. The M-I-L wouldn't let me bring him since we have the "dog-ter". It's so different how my thinking is. Before surgery I would have hit up the grocery and bought a pint, ice cream, not alcohol. I would have continued buying pints until I felt better. Even tho I know that eating that stuff will not bring my baby boy back. Now, I will hit up the sf popsicles. LOL Not really but I will try to eat (since Monday the whole eating thing is getting better.) and make good choices. Ya know like I do everyday. so sorry to hear about your loss. how old was uncle and how did he die. my husband just bought me a toy poodle puppy. and i love the little baby !! my mom use to have a toy poodle years ago and the dog died of a heart attack  and i know the dog was'nt that old . so i was just wondering if this is what takes them from us. and again i am sorry. take care and hope all is well with you.

He was a miniture poodle and would have been 14 in July. He lived a long good life and my mom thinks it was his heart.

Hi Kathy...I am so very sorry....hugs and prayers are coming your way....I have to tell you though..you should be so proud of yourself for recognizing the fact that in the past you would have eaten your sadness....which would only add to the negative feelings.....grief goes by a wee bit faster...(although not fast enough) if we actually go through it....feel it......yes it hurts.....but without that hurt, we would not really realize how amazing love feels....whether it be from a person OR a pet....take care of you....we are here to help you through......luv and hugs......
