OTC cold remedies...bad 4 us?
Hey all!
Does anyone know if cold remedies OTC (over the counter) are bad for gastric patients? I was hospitalized last week for severe pouch pain (CAT scan and Xrays both negative) and thought it might be dumping due to sugar but it lasted for more time than it'd take my system to flush sugar. I was in the hospital for 3 days -- two with severe pain and vomiting. I was wondering if the cold medication I was taking (Nyquil & Daycare) would have exasperated the issue or are something I should have stayed away from to begin with.
Still sniffling but not in pain anymore in the Farmington Valley,

As another aside from the above.....
I know I am more sensative to alcohol when mixed with sugar or sweet and low(I like my drinks sweet). I can drink almost anything, but 4 oz of sangria will put me out for sure. The mix of sugar and alcohol in the pm formula could have had some interesting effects.
