GOT MY SURGERY DATE!!!!!!!!!!!

Hello to all my CT WLS family, I received my call from Dr. Barajs' office. Her secretary Gloria gave me my surgery date. Going to wait until after the holdiays. The date will be January 10, 2005. I hope some of my closer WLS family can come see me or send updates in the email for me on how I am doing. I would love to have an angel from the area too. I have one angel already, but she lives in Kentucky. I am so glad I signed up for this website. Everyone is so kind and caring on here. I am so excited but yet scared too. I know I am in good hands with Dr. Barajas and St Raphaels. Its a great hospital, its where I had my daughter. I would love to hear from some of you. Take Care all and God Bless Kimmie

Hello Kimmie, Happy to hear about your date! Be patient, it will be here before you know it. Don't get too nervous about things, go in with a positive attitude and you will be fine. I am almost through all of the steps before getting my date. I am going to wait until after the holidays as well as Christimas is my birthday and I want to be up for playing with my neices Christmas morning. Plus, vacation time from work will be available again.. I think I only have 4 days left. Great to hear that you have your date!! Mark that calendar!!!! Congrats! Beckie

HI KIMMIE, I AM WOULD LIKE TO ASK YOU A QUESTION, FROM THE TIME THAT YOU WENT TO YOUR FIRST MEETING. HOW LONG DID IT TAKE TO GET A DATE FOR YOUR SURGERY?

Hello Mary, I started back in July with the Seminar first, then met Dr. Barajas the surgeon, went on one week later to meet with Diana the nutrionist, then two weeks later I met Chris the behavorial person. I had to do a ketose diet Diana gave me to do. Was back to the surgeon a week later to see if I passed. Then I had to go to a support group in the beginning of September to find out information about the surgery, in which family is asked to come to. Once I did that I had my final appt with the surgeon to discuss my date and what is going to be done. So roughly it takes about two-three months, depending on your surgeon and your health. Who is your doctor? Do you have one? If not I could refer you to my practice at St Raphaels. Let me know if you need anything. Kimmie

HI KIMMIE, I WENT TO A SEMINAR ON SATURDAY WITH DR. VALIN, AND I GAVE HIM A DATE THAT I WAS INTERESTED IN. IT IS IN NOVEMBER. I HAVE VACATION TIME PLANNED, THIS WAY NO ONE WILL KNOW AT WORK WHAT I AM DOING... DEBBIE STATED THEY THEY WOULD CALL SO I WAS WONDERING HOW LONG IT WOULD TAKE BEFORE SHE CALLS AND WE GET THE BALL ROLLING. I JUST LOVE TO READ EVERYONE'S IMPUT ON WHAT HAD HAPPENED WITH THEM.. IT MAKES THE PROCESS A LITTLE BIT BETTER.

Mary: I found out within two weeks of my last appointment with Dr. Barajas. They take care of the insurance approval then the secretary calls and lets you know. Let me know how you do. Keep your chin up. I am here for you. Kim
