I'M Banded!!!!!!
Hello all
I came home last night dragging an oxygen tank....lungs are not up to
snuff. Today is a much better day. I have to have shots of an anti clot
medicine so I had Visiting nurses twice today,
They showed my husband how to do the shots and he"s just a little too
gleeful about it. He will be doing them tomorrow.
Thank you for all your support

Hi Tammy,
I have copd after 40 years of smoking ( stopped six years ago) I do take
breathing meds and get very short of breath. So I guess this was not
too much of a surprise....it is a royal pain though....I am attached to 50
feet of hose I have to drag around with...any try not to trip over...grace
was never one of my strong points. I wasn'nt able to walk around very
much after surgery without getting very winded....so I needed the oxygen
hopefully it will be temporary

Hi Angela,
Congrats on your successful surgery. I have a question for you. Did Dr. Aranow's office offer to send the visiting nurse to teach you how to administer the shots? I have to start giving myself anti-clot injections next Saturday (my surgery is Tuesday the 5th) and they told me that I could teach myself. I'm a bit worried about it.
Thanks,
Lori
Hi Lori,
I have had to take many many many anti clotting shots in my life unfortunately
I have factor V Leiden and had to be on shots during all three of my pregnancies as well as pre and post op.
Will you be taking Lovenox? It's very easy to do. It comes all drawn up and all you need to do is clean the area with alcohol and then stick the needle in, push the plunger in and then take the needle out. Very simple. Daunting as heck the first time you do it though. If you have any questions I would be more than happy to answer them for you!
