All I want to know is when when when! I am so eager to have this surgery done and it feels like it's taking forever. All of my consultations are within the next two weeks. I'm hoping to have the surgery in November or December. Is this too much too much to hope for? This is very difficult.. .I don't know what to do with myself. ..lol Good luck to everyone who's going in for the surgery, my prayers are with you!

Who's your doctor? It really depends on the doc, how busy he/she is. It can take up to and over eight months, or less depending on the doc.

I am with Dr. Barba's office, which I know is very, very busy. I know I will have to wait a while. .. it's just frustrating and nerve wracking.

I had my last visit with Judy I thing August 23rd. I just got a call this week on Tuesday evening to make my first appointment with Dr. Barba. So it was about 4 1/2 weeks from the last appointment to the call to make an appointment which is set for 11/16, after that, I was told surgery would be 1 month after the appointment with Barba. I have a feeling I wont get in until after the 1st of the year. It will go fast. Are you planning rny or lap band? Good Luck Joanne

Hey there, To give you timeframes... I finished my consultations and am finally meeting with Dr Barba Oct 21. Although it has been along wait it really has not been that bad. From there I have been told it is another 2-3 months before sugery...... GOOD LUCK

Hi Delicia, Welcome to the CT Boards and welcome to the land of patience..... It is very very frustrating being at the mercy of these long waiting periods but most of us have had to suffer that and some of us (like me) did not suffer quitely..... Just remember that there is alot to learn and research and the wait time while it is a killer can be used constructively. Hang out on these boards and you will gain a wealth of information. Meet some other folks who are having the surgery and get first hand information from them. Try and make some changes in your life style now like cutting out soda, caffine, cutting down on carbs, finding an exercise program you might do after surgery etc. etc. Keep busy and the time really will pass.
