Hi All, I am 30 days away from my Support Group Meeting with Dr. Bell. I am getting so excited... Does anyone know what to expect for a surgery date? I am hoping I can get surgery the first week in December. I really want to have surgery before the new year. How long after the meeting does he usually schedule your surgery for? I know I am just excited and trying to get answers that probley can't be answered. Alright I will wait!!!!

Hi, Surgery is usually scheduled within 2 months of the group meeting. You will get a call with the date within 2 weeks of the meeting! Best wishes to you - you are in great hands! God Bless, Kathy Bilodeau Lap RNY 12/3/03 -101 lbs.

Hi Magaly, I am also 30 days from the same educational group. .... from what i understand from watching others go thru it..within two weeks of our meeting with Dr. Bell, Linda will call us with our date. there are about 18 now in his educational meetings give or take a few.... they schedule all those people within a month or six weeks of each other..by necessity of the surgery. (ie..if you have no comorbidities you might go last) so i am sure by the new year we will both have our surgeries. deanna

They will call with in 2 weeks of your educational meeting, and give you a date, usually six to 8 weeks out. I know they are closing in December for the holidays the second two weeks. They told us that at our meeting in August. Then they will reopen after the new year, but hey who knows... anything is possible. Just hang in there it seems like a long wait, but once you get that date, time zips by, I am scheduled for surgery on the 18th of October, and it seems like just yesterday they called!Try and keep focused and use every extra day to help you get prepared. Hi, just wanted to let you know I also was at the August meeting and received a date in the second week of Novemeber so I dont think you will be getting in before January. They must be scheduling the September meeting for December and, since it is a short schedule, into January. So that will leave you with some time in January. I hope this helps with giving you a time frame. Heidi

Thank you all for the responses. I know that I have to be patient and everything will fall into place. Today was just one of those days. But tomorrow will be a better one. I was just hoping I could get it done early December since I work for the Yale University and we do close those last two weeks. So I could of stayed home for the month of December (that would be great). I did not realize that Doctor Bell office went by the University schedule also. Thank you all again for listening. Good nite all. Thanks
