for Dr. Aranow's patients, I know we have to have a cathater put in. Is it put in before or after anasteshia(sp) or after. Also the same question when is it taken out and do you feel it.

I am not sure how Dr.Aranow does it but most put the cathater in after you are asleep. I had mine out day 2. I was awake and it did not hurt at all just alittle bit of a pinch. Chryssie

Hi LaToya. I have Dr Aranow too and I was told the catheter is put in while you are asleep and comes out on day 2 or 3. I'm a nurse and I have put many in and taken many out. I have never heard anyone say it hurts coming out--unless they try and take it out themselves without deflating the little balloon. Hope this helps.

LaToya, Nothing to worry about. I had to cesarean sections, and both times I was awake when they put it in and away when they pulled it out. An IV is 100 times worse.
