My first Dumping experience

Hi, everyone. I am two weeks out today, and have been doing great....at least until the other night. I was told that I could go onto a cross between the pureed food/full liquid diet whi*****luded thin oatmeal and thin farina. Well, the genius that I am, I figured that a small matzo ball squished up in broth wouldn't be any different.........OMG was I wrong! I didn't get the average couple of hours of feeling like crap...mine lasted a total of 26 hours!! My surgeon is actually thrilled that I am one of the "lucky" ones who experience dumping, as it will benefit me in the long run, but I just can't believe that it happened with MATZO!~! Has anyone had something like this happen, and for that long of a period of time? It knocked the daylights out of me, and I have 3 yr. old twins to deal with. I soooo don't wan't to experience that again, but now I am afraid that any carb will cause me to dump. Any insight from those who have been through it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!! Jana BTW: I am down 30+ pounds!!! YIPPEE

Hi Jane, First, congrats on your great weightloss! You must be so proud of yourself! Second, I still dump on sugar and I'm so happy I do, it keeps me on the straight and narrow. I'm sure soemday that'll go away but I'm not interested in testing that out! Keep up the good work, -Deb

Congrats to you on your loss!!! Re the dumping: It was probably more the flour or the dough getting stuck with the matzoah ball thanthe fact it was a carb. Different carbs do different things. However, it is a good indication to you that you need to avoid the WHITE carbs- flour, breads, potato, rice, etc. at least for now. take care and keep up the good work! lisa C
