Roll Call
Hi everyone! We have a BUSY weekend, just like all of you. 3 Birthday parties, gymnastics class for my 6 year old and karate for my 9 year old (she just went up to a green belt and she's part of the "demo" team so that ups her time she has to spend at the studio).
Keeping in check with my food. Meeting with Elina at Dr. Aranow's office made the WORLD of difference. By my scales at home, I'm down 9 pounds. I have to lose a total of 10 in the next 2 weeks to get my surgery date. IT'S SO CLOSE!!!
Hope you all have a GREAT weekend.
Hi all!
I've been loving this message board lately...you all are so supportive of each other. I just started the process, so I'll be here a lot asking questions
On Saturday the DH and I are taking our 8yr old daughter to her cousins b-day party.
They will have one of those jumpy castle things...so the day should be fun! I'm sure she'll be tired by the end. After that I will stay and help my sister finish re-decorating her boy's room. We are painting a village and a train yard on the walls with all sorts of cool trains. There is a huge volcano in the corner that is spewing lava, and the train goes through a tunnel at the bottom. The boys love what we've done so far!
We had done an underwater aquarium for my daughter (its AWESOME) so they wanted something special too. Good thing I like to draw and paint!
Sunday is for grocery shopping and cleaning. Then I have to organize all my information on WLS that I've collected. You all have been so informative, I've been printing the posts of information I'll need for the future.
I love Joanie's posts of WHAT ARE WE EATING? I've been making lists for later on what I can eat and not eat, so I won't be tempted to grab something I shouldn't because I can't make a decision
Tara, It's nice to see you posting again. Youv'e been missing for a few days. Your posts always make me smile. Keep your spirits up....Do what's best for you.

Linda
Sound like a full weekend. I gave everyone leftovers last week...felt so good to get all of that food out of my house! Not much going on the weekend, thankfully...just the kids activities. I am looking forward to an easy weekend for a change. Lately they have been pretty packed. I feel like all I do is drive all week long...to work...my son's driving school, my daugther's soccer, cheerlanding and 2 dance classes! Bob works nights..so during the week I feel like a single parent because he sleeps in the evenings. He does help when he can though.
We did get a kitten, for those of you knew I was looking a few weeks ago. My first experience with a cat and I was less than joyed. I am proud to say "Taco" is the best little kitty and has reformed this cat hater into a cat lover! Not that I didnt have enough to do this week..but somehow the cat got puncture wounds on his neck (inside cat)...I took him th the vet and he is not sure what they were. So here I am trying to give this kitty eyedroppers of amoxicillin. Not sure how much is getting in..but he licks the pink medidine off his mouth, so I guess he is getting it one way or another!
Have a great weekend CT
Hugs to all,
Joanie
Everyone is so busy and isn't it GREAT?
Tonight I'm going to the SUN game at the casino. The SUN could win the Eastern conference regular season championship tonight if they beat the Liberty. I'm planning on screaming my head off...and burning a few billion calories jumping around! If any of you are at the game, stop by Sect 14 Row S to see me...that's my season ticket seat.
Tomorrow I'm off to Ogunquit Maine for "CAMP HUSKY"...a group of Husky fans who met online and really like each other-get together twice a year in Ogunquit (one of our group works at a resort there and gets us terrific deals on the rooms). We'll roam around, sit in the hot tub, talking about the Huskies (women mostly).
My partner, Sandy, can't come so I invited my sister. I'm picking her up in Medford MA tomorrow in the early AM and we're heading up there. She hasn't seen me since the weekend before my surgery...so she's in for a surprise!
Of course, all weekend I'll be keeping my ears open for the Sox and how they are doing vs the Yanks-if they even play the games-looks like rain all weekend. And the Husky football team plays BC tonight.
Should be a great weekend all the way around! Be careful driving out there-remember-LIGHTS ON FOR SAFETY!

Hey everyone! Glad to hear everyone is doing ok.
Let's keep our fingers crossed for Maggie. I don't like that fact that we haven't heard anything on her yet.
On the weight loss front, I'm surprising myself on a daily basis. I just keep losing weight, but still looking FATTER. I think every day that I've gained weight, b/c it just feels like I have. So far I'm down 90 lbs. I thought I'd be happier, but I'm not.
I have been keeping my carbs way down-- besides beans and it seems to have helped, obviously with a 16 lb loss in about 2 weeks. I've been doing my best to get the protein in, but it's really tough, especially since I don't like any of the products to help get it in.
Going on a "hot date" tonight (j/k) to the movies and dinner at Olive Garden. The other day I saw Vanity Fair.. good movie.. 3 hours long!! This weekend I'll be going to play mini-golf, when it's not too soggy and if it is, I'm going to Mystic Aquarium...haven't been yet. Sunday is bum day, doing house stuff. Which brings up the thought of energy.. it's been 1.5 months since I've needed a nap! In the beginning I was soooo tired, now I've got that "energy" everyone's been talking about.
Also.. small dilemma.. new office job.. I'm used to wearing scrubs, so I thought I'd get away with not having to buy new stuff. This one I'll have to buy nice things, so I'm going to check out the clearance rack at Lane Bryant.. since I have ZERO clothes! Never thought that would be a problem.
Well, take care everyone. Have a lovely weekend. Stay dry!
Michelle

Hi all...
My weekend should be fun! Walking in the rain for the Walk From Obesity on Sat (disappointed to not see more of us participating in this important walk!) then lunch with the girls.
Sunday, I go to have an IUI proceedure (YAY!) since my blood work and ultrasound looked good today. (fingers, eyes, legs toes and anything else I can think of are crossed over here!!!) If all goes well, I'll be able to have a pregnancy test on October 5 to see if I get any good news.
Sunday I think I'll also go to yoga in the afternoon. I much prefer to do it on Saturday mornings, but I'll be busy standing in the rain!!!
I'm thinking after my IUI tht I need to go shopping to put myself in a great mood, so I'll probably hit the mall for a while too (or at least a few consignment shops!)
Hope you all have an good weekend!
Anyone who doesnt have plans- please com to the walk on Sat. THere are going to be all kinds of media there covering it! You can sign up on site. The website for info is: walkfromobesity.com (put a www in the front)

I think the weather may ruin some of my plans but I am going to do some "girl shopping" with my 7 year old. Thats what she calls clothes shopping. She is really into clothes and styles now and she still needs some winter clothes and a dress for her cousins wedding in November. I also hope to find something to wear to the wedding but so far no luck.
I actually found I really like Lands End clothes. I love that they hem many of the pants to exactly the length you want and I am 5'3" and regular length pants are just to long. I was very surprised when I took out my old smaller clothes as I was losing weight and realized that they were way too long. I guess I never had a problem with them because I wore them when the style was to roll them up tight to your leg. LOL
I went on Lands End and filled out the measurements for their pretend model that is supposed to represent you. I only wish my curves were as smooth Anyway, I tried to get it to tell me what size maternity clothes to buy but it would only work with the regular clothes so I checked what size I should wear in reg. pants and shirts. It said a large shirt and...... a size 18 pants!!!!! It scared the H@#$ out of me because I was getting into a size 12 before I got pregnant. I took a leap of faith and ordered the size 12 maternity pants and was pleasantly surprised when they were more than roomy enough. I actually lost a pound this week but I know that won't last for long.
We also planned on going to the Guilford fair and Gillette's castle on Sunday but if it rains than it won't be as much fun.
Linda, Congrats on the new car! But what is it????
Chrissy, that sounds like fun the storytime. Maybe I will bring Violet sometime. They also have one on Wed. at the smaller library in Branford that the kids wear PJ's and bring a stuffed animal.
Lisa, keeping everything crossed for you too. And you may want to cross everything but you legs... ooops did I say that??? sorry!
Tara, you definatly have to look out for yourself but give yourself and your husband time make sure you know exactly how you feel. congrats on one less job!! Enjoy.
Deb, you are doing wonderful with your weight loss. I am getting jealous!
But you do need to update your photo to show your *****y new haircut.
Joanie, Thanks for the "what are we eating posts" I will add mine in soon so that I can make Linda and KathyB see that they are not eating the most.
Please someone post about Maggie when you hear!!!!!!
Everyone have a great weekend and try and stay dry.

Wow...you all have so much going on...thanks for sharing. This weekend is going to be the usual. Clean the house, do the laundry and groceries. If there is any time left maybe go for a ride north on Sunday to see if there is any foliage yet. Hoping at this time next year I can say going for a hike to see the foliage........
.
I am a little annoyed right now. I found out yesterday that Dr Giles will no longer be practicing at UCONN, but is moving to New Britian General. I also found out he will not be scheduling any surgeries until Dec or Jan. He didn't mention this too me at all last month when I saw him.
I haven't been able to find any info on New Britian in terms of this surgery, and I don't want to be one of the first ones. I am seriously thinking about just biting the bullet, losing this damn 20 lbs and going back to Dr Barba at St Francis. At least I know that Dr Barba is more than competent and that the hospital is equiped for this surgery.
OK...enough for my latest rant. Christine g/f...we still have to make plans to get together with Michelle. Everyone have a fabulous weekend.
