Hello Everyone, Well its that time again. The weekend is approaching and so many of us are all over the place it would be great for everyone to check in and give an update on what's happening in our lives. There are so many of us participating in the CT Boards and that is totally awesome Good luck to everyone no matter where you are in your journey. So I guess I should begin with my update........ Not much happening weight wise. Just inching down very very slowly at the moment but I do feel that I have made some changes for the better with my eating this week. Seems like I do need to stay away from fruit. I switched to regular glucophage from the XR (sustained release) thinking maybe I am not absorbing it. When I don't eat fruit my fasting sugars are about 112-120. When I do eat fruit (even taking 3 glucophage a day) my fasting sugar is 130-150. The good news is though I measured the other day for the first time since May and I have lost 67 1/2 inches from last November 104 pound, 67 1/2 inches. Not too shabby . I did get a new car today........ So now I have a new home, new car, all new clothes.......A NEW LIFE!! What more could a girl ask for?? I have no idea what happened to my new picture. Now I can't see it on my profile either. Guess I will have to resend it and maybe a newer one also. Busy weekend ahead. Having about 12 for dinner Saturday night (late holiday celebration). I am making chicken soup and matzo balls, chopped liver, brisket, turkey breast, roast potatos, potato kugel and something for desert. My niece (the bride) is bring some kind of vegetable. I was thinking that I have way too much food but my two younger neices have asked (already) for food to take back to college with them. I love that!! Lets hear from all of you! Have a great weekend. Hi Linda! Congratulations at the inches and pounds lost! That is incredible! I am so proud of all the work you've done! So what kinda new car did you get? I'm looking to get a Wrangler. It's so liberating. haha I am at a time in my life right now where I need to feel free and unfortunately it's causing a lot of problems with my marriage. I am afraid to break his heart and I am also afraid to be labeled as the spouse that went and lost a buncha weight and left her husband. So I have mixed feelings all over and might see a counselor on my own. With all of that aside - TODAY IS MY LAST DAY AT HEALTH NET! Yeee ha! I will just have my Midnight-5am Star shift and my Saturday 7-midnight Fox shift. So it will be 100% radio for me and nothing else. It's wonderful! I can actually sleep now and have time and energy for other things. I am down 61 pounds and am at a halt for the past 2 weeks. It's okay though - I am sure my body is adjusting. I've been adding some carbs here and there though, so I need to watch that! Let's see - what do I have coming up .... going to the Bluefish Game tonight if it doesn't get rained out. Working at The Fox tomorrow night. That's about it for me! Tara

Hi Everyone! My weight loss is going well, I am happy with it. I am down 70 pounds since surgery, 85 since pre-op. I am down to size 18 pants, which was the last size available and waiting (for many years) in my attic. It was also my size when I met my husband. After this I buy new clothes! Well, I buy new clothes now anyway, but I'll be buying even more soon enough. I have finally been exercising consistently now, and am really starting to get into it. Who knew? This weekend I actually have no plans all day on Saturday - YEAH!! Saturday night my husband's father and brothers are coming over to watch the De La Hoya fight and I will be "hostess". Just cooking some small finger foods, etc. Sunday we have 2 parties we are supposed to attend at the same time. I am kind of annoyed at these never ending parties. It has been going on all summer. I would like to skip one of them, but then feelings get hurt. At least I have the energy now to do all this. I would have been dragging my sorry butt around before, now I will enjoy them. We already got invited to a distant cousin's baby's baptism for next weekend. It never ends... I don't want to sound like a complainer because these problems are really not problems at all. I am really happy since I had surgery, I feel so much healthier and happier. I can walk into a room now with my head held up. I can look people in the eye and not feel ashamed. I am DOING the things I need to do to get healthier and more fit, instead of wishing for my weight to magically disappear. Things in my life are really great and I am grateful for that. I hope everyone has a great weekend! Anne

Congratulations to all who are enjoying weight loss success! I hope to be where some of you are this time next year. Not much this weekend, dh working all weekend, we need the dinero since I have been out of work for over a year. I do have an interview on Tuesday, keep your fingers crossed for me! Saturday my daughter and I plan on going to a friends house, she sews well and we are going to make a pair of pants for a costume for my daughter. She is very into Anime and wants to be a character named Kikyo. The pants are a little different from regular pants so I needed someone who has some skill in sewing. No plans for Sunday, maybe relax with the family, do some cleaning, busy week next week, I am finally meeting Dr. Bell. Anyone else meeting him on Thursday? Have a great weekend! Pam

Linda, It sounds like you are a new woman, I'm so happy to hear how well you are doing! As for me, I have so much planned for the weekend. Today I have my ultrasound scheduled, then pick my daughter up from daycare, come home and wait for the Sear's huy to come and fix the refridgerator, again! Tonight make my Avon deliveries and go with my husband to his bowling league. I also need to talk to my boss to make sure my new surgery date is OK with her, and talk to Debby to reschedule all pre-op tests. Saturday, I am taking a class on how to get organized (which I need desperately!) in the morning. I have to take my daughter and her friend to Mystic Aquarium to see Cookie Monster, then A birthday party in the afternoon. Sunday another birthday party and hopefully go out to dinner to celebrate my new surgery date (Mexican, my favorite. Hubby doesn't like it too much so we never eat it!). Overall, I'm just trying to stay sane during this crazy time. Carmen

Hi everyone, Happy Friday! This weekend we're going to NH to visit my family. Wish me luck, I don't get along with my Mother at all so this is usually a stressful time. We're staying at her house but most of the time will be spent visiting other family and friends. On a happier note I am continuing to lose weight and have lost 6 pounds so far this month! It's funny, when I eat more I lose more, and that goes against everything about 'dieting' we've been taught. I just have to keep it in control and not think I can eat to my hearts content and will continue to lose. Have a great weekend everyone! -Deb

What a great way to keep up with everyone! Linda, you sounds just so happy, I am thrilled for you. Good Luck on the big dinner. Tara, I know you are overwhelmed right now, but everything happens for a reason and everything will work out. Maybe things will change for your family after you leave this job. I will keep my fingers crossed for you!! Anne, I hear ya, I cannot attend one more party right now!!! DEB!!! Have a great time this weekend. I am sure you will make the best of it. I am sure your friends will be glad to see ya!! Still can't get over the picture - hee hee. Kathy - good luck with the walk this weekend and walk for Maggie too!! This weekend I am headed to Boston for a girls weekend. Me, my mom, one of her friends and one of my friends. It has kind of turned into a tradition. Very much looking forward to it, haven't really been anywhere this summer saving my vacation for surgery time. Speaking of, kind of at a stand still at the moment. Long story short, my paperwork is on its way to the insurance company for approval. Well, this week I have been calling to see if they paperwork arrived at my insurance, and on Thursday they decide to tell me that THERE IS NO EXCLUSION FOR WEIGHT LOSS. For about three hours I felt so devastated. I spent all this time going through the steps and then to find out the insurance company is going to stop it!!!!! But of course, my mom came to the rescue and did some investigating and both her and the nurse told me not to worry, yet. My mom is awesome. She will make sure that I have my surgery come hell or high water. She has been such a rock for me, I don't know what I would do without her. Anyway, now I know I am waiting for my denial letter and we will take it from there. Not going to think about it this weekend, because it this weekend is ALL ABOUT ME!!! Everyone have a great weekend! Love ya, Phyllis

Morning Everyone and Happy Friday... I'll be home tonight with my 2 boys...as I am every Friday night...DH works nights so...evenings out are a rarity. We're hoping that changes. He has an interview on Wednesday morning...KEEP YOUR FINGERS CROSSED!! LOL I'll be going to bed early tonight so that I can get up, bright eyed and bushy tailed to go walk in the rain (Hope to see a lot of you there). I'm bringing my big UCONN Huskies umbrella...LOL. Of all the days to get rained on...DANG IT!!! But, I'll be there. I kept telling my husband "I hope it is not boiling hot or freezing cold for the walk" I guess I forgot to put in my order for NO RAIN!!! LOL Saturday afternoon after the walk, I will go home...DH will go to work and I will hang out with my kids and probably be in chat on OH.com...Sunday, DH will watch football while I do laundry and then he'll go to work...I have Monday off from work...have to deal with some stuff for my younger son and we have some errands to run...have to renew the car insurance for the year and stuff...yahoo. LOL And that's it...not too exciting except for the walk. I am bringing my digital camera to the walk and on Saturday evening I will be putting them on a yahoo page. I will post the link on my profile when I am done. Hope to see a lot of you there!!! I would love to meet some brothers and sisters!! Have a Sparkling Friday!! ~CAE~

I just LOVE roll call. It is such a great way to catch up on everyone. Since it is going to be so rainy this weekend I just plan on doing things around my house. No major plans. Friday nights my son and I go to story time at Barnes & Noble. It is a great way to spend quality time together and he really loves it. On the weightloss front things are going ok. I have lost 39 pounds since my surgery on 7/26/04. To me this seems slow. I have gone from a tight size 22 to a 16 petite. My current BMI would not qualify me for surgery even with my co-morbidities. I am off all my diabetes meds which was my primary reason for surgery. Life is good. I will have my 2 month follow up with Dr.Bell next friday (9/24). When did you post ops finally get your energy back??? I am so tired all the time. I wonder if I am low on iron? I take my vits. though. I hope everyone has a sparkling though soggy weekend!!! Chryssie
