Carnation Instant Breakfast question??
I have a question...I purchased the already mixed carnation instant breakfast that says 'for the carb conscious' It has 0 sugar carbs added but then on the nutrition information it says it has 12 grams of sugar from lactose, a natural milk sugar??? So would this be ok to drink? I haven't had my surgery yet, Im going Friday 9/17 I also bought the fat free carb countdown chocolate and white milk and I have the chocolate isopure protein shake and the whey protein from gnc that I can add to pretty much anything, (its the tasteless powder) I was also wondering if anyone post op on here drinks fruit2o flavored waters? I had one today...theres like 12 grams of protein in those and their sweetened with splenda and their pretty good. I was just wondering if someone post op can have these things?
G'Morning!
It sounds like you;re really on the right path! All the items you mentioned are going to be fine, as long as you personally can tolerate them and like the flavor.
September 17? Thats right around the corner! Good for you! Time to end one chapter of your life and begin another - I'm excited for you!
I have a hard time drinking plain water, but I can do Fruit2o with little problems...it has to be ice cold. I try and buy the ones with the added vits and stuff...figure the more I can get in the better, right? I think my fav flavor is the citrus-y one...forget the name of it but it's a blue label.
Best of luck and keep us informed!

These are all fine to drink
Milk has naturally occuring sugar in it - all dairy products do -- most people have no trouble tolerating this type of sugar - so don't worry. You want to look at dairy items that say - "no sugar added" instead of sugar-free, because they cannot technically be called "sugar-free" due to the natural milk sugars.
Best wishes to you on your upcoming surgery.

Hi, Joanie!
The regular Fruit 2 O is jus****er with flavor and artificial sweetener. Fruit 2 O Plus is the one that has vitamins and stuff added to it, so that would be the one that might have protein. What was that saying there used to be in some commercials years ago -- "read the label, set a better table"? I guess for this board it's "read the label, find the protein". Or better yet, instead of "where's Waldo?", "where's the protein?"
OT, in reference to your cucumber situation of last week, I saw a post by Dame Tooter the other day in which she recommended peeling and seeding cucumbers because the seeds are what cause gas.
