Hello!!
Hello, fellow Connecticutians!
I'm pretty new to the board, and I am in the process of getting all my pre-surgical appointments (psych consult, nutritionist appointment, etc) and I am really getting excited. I mean, I was a little dissapointed about having to wait a full month for the first avail. appointment at the Yale Nutrition Center, but I guess you gotta do what you gotta do. I've decided I really want the Lap Band done, for many reasons. I hope my surgeon agrees! So, anyway, i wanted to say hello, and I hope to be joining your ranks very soon!
Hello and welcome...you are going to find Dr. Bell amazing...and your life will begin again...I did not have the Lap band surgery, but went through all the pre op with Dr. Bell...any questions I might be able to answer are at finger tips...just ask...I know it seems like a long time, but before you know it, you'll be 8 months out...and thinner!
Good luck-I am having a vsg with Dr Bell in 2 weeks-he is wonderdul-I had my pre-op appt today-he took a lot of time to make sure that all my questions were answered. He told me to email him with any questions that might come up. He is very current and right on top of the newest and best ways to do the surgery.

Congratulations on your first steps to the new you.
You are in VERY good hands with Dr. Bell. Once you get those appointments out of the way things will move along very quickly.
I don't know how many bands Dr. Bell has done but he's highly skilled in the lap RNY and also does the Lap RNY on larger patients (over 500 pounds) which most surgeons don't do. He's also a total sweetheart with an amazing bed side manner....a rare find with surgeons.
