reconstructive surgeon info and walkathon info
Hi all - It's me, Anahid. I finally got a profile together (so, it's not thorough or informative, but it IS a way to reach me, right?)
Anyway, I had posted info on the reconstructive surgeon who worked miracles with me. His name is Charles Castiglione and he is, bar none, the best in CT (no, seriously). His office number is: 860-548-7338 and he is located directly across from the CT Children's Medical Center in Hartford. I would recommend consulting with at least 2 other surgeon's so that you can compare them to Dr. Castiglione.
Be sure you let him know I recommended you... Your care will not be impacted, I assure you, nor will his demeanor. He will appreciate knowing that his patients respect him and his work and recommend him so openly.
Also, there is a walkathon scheduled for this weekend in Middletown CT. It's a 3.1 mile walk, I believe and not a race. We can all do it at our own pace, y'know? Registration is from 7-8:45 and the walk begins @ 9:00 am. It's $25 registration fee (but feel free to get sponsors to pay that amount for you if you like). Each $25 registrant will receive a t-shirt, I hear (no size small's).
The Walk will be held (rain or shine) at the Principal Financial Services Building, 245 Long Hill Rd, Middletown, CT 06457 (the old Weekly Reader Building).
From Hartford: South I-91 to Rt. 9 South.
From New Haven: North I-91 to Rt 9 South
From Rt. 9 South: Exit #11-Randolph Road, Rt 155, turn left at the end of ramp towards Durham, proceed 2.8 miles, crossing over Rt. 17, turn right on Long Hill Rd, go up 0.3 miles.
From Rt. 9 North: Exit #11-Randolph Road, Rt 155, turn left at the end of ramp (go under the overpass) towards Durham, proceed 2.8 miles, crossing over Rt. 17, turn right on Long Hill Rd, go up 0.3 miles.
Call 860-358-4583 for more info, k?
Talk to y'all later!
Anahid,
I am so glad you got on this board again. I so enjoyed meeting you the other night. You made me laugh...and you and Lisa really are inspirations! I will keep that surgeon in mind...but it seems like it will take forever to lose all my weight! Some weeks it goes so quickly and others...(like this one) the scale does not move. I really need to hide that thing and have Bob bring it out once a week only!
I am going to try to make the walk on Saturday. I might ask my friend who has been walking with me every night since my surgery. She is truely been a motivator...someone who I never expected would be...she totally surprised me.
OK..off to work
Joanie
She's hanging in so far. This is now 2 weeks post-op from the repair. She is up, moving and doing everything I guess that she can, but gets tired easily. Reminds me of the days prior to the WLS.
The wound vac is working well. The tissue looks incredible healthy so far, and there are signs of new growth ready to come. It's just the wait and see time that it takes, that's all.
I saw your post. I know Lois will have good news for you shortly. Don't panic. All good things take time. Some just take more. Anyway you look at it, this will be a much shorter wait than all that you have gone through already.
Hope to see you soon at group. Tough finding kids to work for me at attend Monday meetings right now, but working on it. Joanne should be there next Monday. Or she can work and I'll go!!!!
Peter
Hi Anahid,
Just want to let you know how much I enjoyed meeting you on Saturday, and thank you for being so open to me asking all those questions
You look fabulous - you should be very proud of yourself, you are truly a success.
I've written down your surgeon's name, and I'll be sure to get a consult with him towards the end of the year - I love the results you have seen.
Hope to see you again soon.
God Bless,
Kathy Bilodeau
Anahid,
It was so nice to meet you on Saturday. You are such a fun person. I can only hope to have that confidence someday. You should be very proud of where you're at. You're an inspiration to the rest of us for sure.
Whenever I doubt that there's a little person underneath all this padding, I have a little glimmer of hope that I'll find her too someday.
Thanks for the surgeon's info. Good to know there's someone out there that has his patients speak so highly of him.
Take care,
Michelle
