I had my surgical consult about 2 weeks ago and the set up my Endoscopy for this coming Tuesday. After that visit they said I would get a date pending insurance approval. I have not heard anything yet and I figure the insurance would not have pre-approved the endoscopy if they were not going to approve the surgery. I am going to call again but I was just getting a bit concerned.

I am thinking this. Not necessarily so Matt. The endoscopy is usually an approved procedure that can be done for any number of reasons from the insurance approving end. Meaning... not just for WLS. So don't panic just yet. This time before surgery can ******vous time. Hang in there. T.

Matt, my approval came just days before surgery--I was so nervouse that it was not going to happened, but my doctor kept saying don't worry!  ask you doctor's office how they think is it going to pan out.  I agree with you, I don't think they would be sending you for the other tests if they thought you were not going to be able to have the surgery--just my thoughts! keeping you in my prayers! Matt -  They will most likely not submit to surgery until after your endoscopy, in case they find anything during that they should include in the paperwork.  At least that's what Barba's office did when I went in.  So, don't worry too soon.  I hope everything goes well.  Keep us posted.
