I am finally home!!!
I am sitting here thinking to my self..."I can't believe i did this".Like the journey seems so long and like it would never start.
This won't be long it hurts to be upright too long! But I wanted to let everyone know the surgery went well.I was never scared as I should have been ..boy oh boy i was in a lot of pain i had open rny.My doc used stitches and staples to close me up.
My surgery was 9/1/04 and i came home on Sunday 9/5/04.Ohhhhh and i did get the dreaded water weight gain jumped from 460 to 482 when i left the hospital i was 468 so i guess its leaving as soon as it came!
Cold water is a no no no :!!! it made my me feel cold inside an my teeth would chatter uncontrollably.
Had the most trouble sleeping i cant get comfortable and i cried the 1st night i was home my back hurt and my stomcah aches..couldnt hold it in!
but as everyone told me each days gets better today i dont feel as bad as day 1! but i wish some one would have said you 1st week may be hell and you wont feel better till 1week out or something like that!
Other than that thanks everyone for you support b-4 going in.
Officially post-op Erica !
very tierd/sore
Welcome home Erica. I'm glad to hear you are doing well and are an official post-op now.
The days do get better. I had to have my husband go out and buy a recliner. It was the only thing I could get comfortable in. We did later sell this in the paper and only lost $50 on the deal. Not bad to me.
Bob's has a good and not to pricey selection.
Keep us posted as to your progress.

Congratulations Erica!
Welcome to the Losing Side! I know what you mean about the water weight, I weighed 298 the day of surgery-314 the day after! And ditto for me on the cold water-actually any water made my stomach hurt for about 7 weeks! I could drink Kool-Aid, Iced Tea, hot coffee, etc, water in any other form-but not plain water. The doctor's office said that this happens and no one knows why, but it just goes away...and they were right, I can drink water now no problem.
Keep up your spirits, the weight is going to melt off you and you are going to be sooooo happy you went through this rough patch!
Get plenty of rest you just had major surgery....drink your fluids and get up and walk.
Keep us posted on your progress...we love to hear it!

Welcome home Erica!
It gets better -- I swear! The first couple of weeks are the hardest, then life starts to get easier. You'll be up and around before you know it.
And as for the water, I never liked ice water and I think it's easier to get more water in when it's not ice cold ... just my humble opinion.
Keep up the great work.
