I think my pouch is f'ed up!!!
I am making an emergency appointment with my WLS, cause I am just gaining wieght and not eating just drinking coffee (5 cups a day) and I drink water, green tea, Crystal Light all the time.
Lately I have been throwing up and my WL just stopped at 8 months, and I may joke around about my cracker addiction but I really dont eat that many and I was really working hard at the gym( Ihave slowed down a lot because of O.T). Yesterday I sat down for dinner and ate like 8 wings. So I think that something really wrong with me, the last few times I met with my WLS he said that I was fine and he refused to check my pouch. I also told them that it feels like food stays just above the pouch, then I get bloated and after taking like 4 laxitives I feel normal.
So I am just here pulling out my last few strands of hair trying to figure out what the heck is wrong with my pouch.
Has this happened to anyone on the board???

I stopped losing at 9 months and only lost almost 90 lbs. I have gained 30 back. Have your Dr. order an endoscopy for you. Not the upper GI. That only tells how quick your food flows through and that's good too but you want to know the size of your pouch and/or stoma because if they are stretched that explains your weight gain. If you are a BMI of 40 or more or have comorbidities you might qualify for a revision. Also, if you are always drinking, that doesn't really stay in your system long and you must be starving. EAT PROTEIN!!!!!!!!!! Meat if nothing else. Not fried either. Your body is probably feeding off its self. Pretty soon you won't have any energy to work out or work overtime if you don't get some protein. CRACKERS ARWE CARBS!!!!!!!!!! Good luck. Maybe you'll get some results soon.
I'm glad you're going to see your WLSurgeon. It's important that you get yourself checked out, including bloodwork.
After that- you will have a better idea where to look for the culprit of your troubles. Getting specific about logging your food/bevg intakes daily and exercise will be very helpful too. In fact, I would start doing this right away- it will be helpful for your WLSurgeon to see- you can take it with you to your appt. Try fitday.com if you want an online tool to do this. It's so much better to be specific with the surgeon and giving him a log to see will go a long way towards diagnosing your issues.
You may actually be surprised- sometimes 'not that much' turns into a lot more than you thought. Conversely- not eating enough will make you hang onto the weight and retain water, etc. So, that could be an issue.
Fortunately, there are a lot fewer instances of the tool being actually messed up (especially if it's been working for a while) than there are instances of us loosing control of the tool. I'm sure if there IS a mechanical cause for your problem, your surgeon will find it. If there isn't it will allow you to take the necessary steps forward towards gaining control once again.
Best of luck to you. I really hope you find the cause of your problems. Please keep us informed on your progress, OK?
Best,

I see who your surgeon is and I would highly recommend you make an appointment with Dr. Bell over at Yale. Dr. Valin did my surgery and I had no complications no problems but then he did my mothers and she had all sorts of problems and he kept telling her to go home and eat. I dont want to go into too many details here but if you would like to know the story and the outcome, you are more than welcome to email me and I will explain the whole thing to you. I dont want what happened to my mom to happen to anyone else. I hope you are feeling better soon and give Dr. Bell a call over at Yale, hes wonderful and very thorough. Take Care :)
