Crash and Burn (The extended remix version)

After 5 weeks of working 70 hours/wk and going to station meetings and support group meetings, I've hit rock bottom. It was this morning that I realized, I will not survive if I continue like this. My ankles have been swelling like softballs, which is really rare for me and last night I fell asleep at the wheel on the way to work. I'm fine, car seems fine. I slept a total of 3 hours in 3 days so far this week and just couldn't function. What's more - I am realizing that I am not a kid in great health. My fluid and caloric intake have taken a hit, big time. I walk/run on the treadmill nearly every day for 2 miles and that alone burns 340 calories. I actually say to myself "I don't think I will even eat that many calories today". The sad truth, I generally don't. This is probably why weight loss is slowing down so much for me and at 10 weeks PO today, I am a little worried. So at 3am, I called Dr. Tran's office. I left a message. Linda from the office called back and I was asleep (took the day off from other job), so we are playing phone tag. I think it would be best to get some blood work done just in case I've done any damage to my organs because of dehydration. Just a thought ... By the way: I will be doing several appearances at the Norwalk Oyster Festival next weekend. I will actually be doing my Saturday night 95.9 The Fox shift from there, so that's 7-midnight. SO - this means, I can not have the night off, and I will miss the dinner. I will also be there to represent Star 99.9 at another time in the weekend. Held off on firming up a time with them because I was planning on seeing most of you (Crum picnic and then dinner in Middletown). But now that I will already be in Norwalk, I will probably make some time before Saturday at 7 to do my Star apprearance down there. I was looking soooo forward to meeting all of you!!! Dr. Tran's Support Meeting is next Thursday night in the cafeteria at Bridgeport Hospital, if anyone is interested in attending. I'd love to meet all of you in some way, shape, or form! That's my story and I'm sticking to it! ps: Here's an updated picture (one of 71 pictures taken) http://taramadison.com/pics/index.htm I am working on getting most of the others up there as well. The pic is kinda big and all in yer face and whatnot. But that's me, yesterday. Tara

Tara, This is your angel speaking ...Take care of yourself..you did this to become more healthy and now you are running yourself ragged! Besides the bloodwork, maybe you need a visit to the dietician, to make sure you are getting enough protein and liquids. (((((Tara)))) take it easy on yourself..you have lost so much weight so quickly, its only natural fo you body to slow down. I hope you can relax today...and feel better about it all. Joanie

Sweetie, You need to take care of yourself!! I know you've got a heavy schedule based on your previous posts, but you do need your rest in order to get your body into to peak (or closer to peak) shape. I know that after surgery your energy gets better, but you're taking it to the extreme! You mentioned something about just doing one of these shows -- I think the Star. Is that a possibility? You really need to nourish your body & give it the rest it needs. I doubt you've done any serious damage, but it's smart to check for dehydration. Do you go to Laurie? I know she's a tough taskmaster but she's good. I'll try to make the meeting at Dr. Tran's, because I need the guidance myself in terms of getting back into healthy eating groove. FYI, I will be at the Oyster Fest Friday and Sunday nights, for Cheap Trick (I can't help myself) and Robert Cray. I'll do my best to try & find you. We'll get you through this. You're a great chick & you're smart -- you'll figure it out. Love ya, Kathy

I have to do one appearance for The Fox and one for Star. I am not concerned about stuff on weekends because I do get some sleep during the weekend. It's the weekday CRAP I am dealing with. Primarily, my day job. I like the job, like the company, like the benefits, but HATE sitting here all day when I could be sleeping! (see reply to Joanie's post) I hope to see you at Tran's meeting. I will be the one with the long legs. *wink* Love ya too! Tara

Love the radio gig, Tammy. That's the most fun. Plus I can roll up in there with sweats and a ripped t-shirt and it's okay! My day job, I gotta get dressed and put on make-up and work and stuff. Ewww!
