Tentative surgery date: Sept 21st
I finally talked to Lois. She set up a tentative date, Sept 21, 20 days from now. I am a wreck. She still has to run the date and everything through my insurance, but they need a date to do that with CTcare.
Did I say I am a wreck? I have so much to do in such a short time. I am still on a family care leave which means I have to get back to work to end that leave and turn around to go back out on a medical leave. My daughter starts preschool in another week and I have to figure out all the logistics of getting the kids back and forth to school and daycare while I am recuperating. YIKES!!! Did I just say that???!!! I have a lot of family volunteering, so I know it will work out, just so fast!!! I expected to get an October date for some reason.
Holy Smokes!! My stomach is going to be the size of a thimble in a few weeks! WOW! I am full of all kinds of emotions!

Hey Sis,
I knew it was a surgery date ! SMILE!!! Congrats on getting your date and it is perfect time for you so your family can help you out and you will be fine to go on Treat or Trick with your kids on Halloween Day! It is so normal to feel all kind of emotions. Go shopping to buy samples of proteins, broth ( I prefer homemade chicken broth), crystal light, sugarfree possible etc........ I will keep you in my prayers on your big day.
Hugs

Thanks Kathy,
That is a great idea to get some samples of protein powders and stock up on the things I will be eating post-op. I prefer homemade chicken broth too. I guess I will have to roast a couple of chickens this weekend and make some stock for myself.
I am praying that you will hear from Lois very soon too.... I am not giving up on the hope of doing a lap around the nurse's station with you.
Terri
Congratulations!!
Hopefully I will be right behind you (9/27, i think). I am just waiting for a call back.... My daughter starts preschool next week too, so I am having all the same thoughts. Just relax and everything will be fine. If you have a supportive family, everything will definetly fall into place.

Carmen,
Thanks for the good wishes. I was starting to tell Abrielle (my 3 1/2 yr old) about how my stomach is broken and the doctor is going to fix it so I can be healthier. When I told her I was going to have to stay over night in the hospital a couple of days, she said she would give me her favorite lammy that she takes to bed with her so I won't be scared. Isn't that so sweet? I was wondering how I was going to tell her and prepare her and so far so good.
Praying all goes smoothly for you too. The next month is going to be quite a ride!
