I've seen angels referred to in some postings. What exactly is an angel, how do you get one and when do you get one? Thanks in advance for your answers, Debby

Aww Debby - you are in the town where I was born and raised. *sigh* I miss Hamden so much. An angel is (generally) a post-op that can post an update for you on the boards when you are in surgery (to start) and can mentor you. You just ask for one. Ask, and ye shall receive! I'd love to take on the roll if you'd like?!? Tara

Hi Debby, I do have an angel. Her name is Lisa C. She gives me alot of good advices and share her experience. She is honest person and told me things for preparing for this surgery. I can email her for anything and she is always being there for me since I cannot talk on the phone. Awww- thanks for that plug for my angel services there Kathy! You're such a good little angelette, It's a pleasure to be there for you! Yes, everyone is exactly right. An angel should be someone that you have some type of relationship with or feel some connection to that will help you through your journey. Often, it is helpful to have someone who had the same surgeon as you or who had the same type of surgery. But, I think the connection and relationship are more important. They are there to support you, correspond, answer questions and just be a friend in general. They will post about your surgery and may even visit you in the hospital. Perhaps you haven't gotten to know anyone here quite well enough yet, or perhaps you have someone in mind...you can ask someone to be your angel or someone might volunteer. It happens in many different ways. At any rate- as you begin to form your relationships here, I'm sure that you'll find someone that you feel is right for you. I am a patient of Dr. A too, so feel free to write me if you like. Perhaps we can get to know each other better. I'd be happy to be of assistance. Lisa C
