Hey to All Just wanted to share a little info with you guys, need to vent a little. Yesterday the Mrs. took off from work so she can spend a little more time with the little ones before the caos of having all four of our kids in four different schools. One in his first year in High School, one in his first year in Middle School, one entering kindergarden, and the last will be in pre-k. So my wife took them to the pool due to knowing the weather would not be so great the next two days and yesterday would be the best day of the week before Thursday's start. She is there all day (10 hrs) and 10 mins before she leaves, she says my 5 year old wants to go to the playground area. So off they go. Not 2 seconds there and my son goes on the Monkey Bars and falls off, lands on his hands and is complaining that he can't move his right hand. She calls me at work and off to the ER we go. Yes it is broken. They put it in a splint and we have to see an Ortho Surg in 3 days so they can put it in a cast when the swelling goes down. Mind you, he is right handed and school starts for him on Thurs. Let the fun begin. UGHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!! . Sorry needed to vent. Luis

It sounds like you and your wife have alot on your plate right now .. my prayers are with you all. good thing is that kids adjust fast and just keep running.. . not like us adults .. Hi Pattie Thanks. We will definitely need alot of prayers this year. Gonna be a test of our parental skills for us. I hope we pass. We have a huge calander hanging in the kitchen that is pretty much full till November right now. I do hope he heals quickly, can't have that kindergarden coloring backing too much. LOL. Thanks again, will keep you posted. Luis

Hi Tammy Thanks a bunch. I hope it will be behind us soon. The fun is about to begin. He will recover, but I think it leaves emotional scars on the Mrs. cause it was on her watch. This too shall pass. Hope your daughter is okay. Thanks again. Luis

Boy can I identify Luis. My son who is 12 races motocross, he broke his wrist on opening day April 17th in his 2nd moto of the day and I was by myself with him at the track. His dad had to work. The one time I go alone with him, he gets hurt. He was out the whole season. Hes a lefty and it was his right wrist, but it was on the growth plate in 2 places. So he was in a cast for a full 12 weeks and then 3 more weeks of a splint after that. One good thing is these days the casts are made of fiber glass and you can get them wet now. The only bad thing about that is they itch after they are wet. DO NOT let him stick something down his arm to scratch. Use a hairdryer to make the itch go away. I put plastic bags over Adams wrist jus so it wouldnt itch that bad. Another thing is if he breaks the cast in any way take him to the doctor immediately. Adam broke the thumb portion off his cast which was keeping his wrist immobile and he ended up doing another 4 weeks because of it. Little kids grow bone really fast, much faster than adults. Give him 1 or 2 tums a day and he will really grow that bone. You know just the fact that hes a boy, this is probably the first of many bones that will be broken over the years. They just seem to be more wild when they are little than girls are. My girls never hurt themselves ever. It seems like Adam is constantly scrapped up or something. Its just the way that it is when you raise sons. Look on the bright side, boys are better teenagers. I thought my daughters would put me in the loony bin. My daily prayer was, God, just get me through it. I would take 4 boys, to the 2 of them. Glad thats over, they normed out now, but I thought I would never survive it.....lol... Good luck Lauren

Hi Lauren Thanks so much for your words, I will pass them along to the Mrs so she knows it just doesn't happen to her. Unbelievable what happened to your son. You must have been flippen. Thanks for the itching remedy, I will use it when he gets his hard cast in two days. I didn't know they could get wet now. New technology these days. Good idea too about the tums, gonna try it. I have a 13 yr old boy, an 11 yr old boy, a 5 yr old boy and a 4 yr old girl and a 2 yr old Biscion. The 5 yr old, I think if we go to emergency one more time with him, Children Services will be called. LOL. He will be the one to drive us to the Loney House. Boys are better teenagers, what age, cause my 13 yr old is has not normed out yet. I can't wait for that. Gonna have to use your prayer, God just get me through it. Thanks for listening. Luis

Luis, I don't know if I am more in shock about your son or the fact that you have four children going to four different schools!! What a freaken inconvience this week, huh? Poor thing, so little, all he probably knows is that he is in pain. The time will go by fast. It will be a great conversation piece for him at his new school!! Have a great day! Phyllis

Hi Phyllis Yes, shocking, isn't it. I can't remember what I had for lunch yesterday, and my wife thinks I am going to remember teacher's names, she is crazy. Inconvience is not the word for this week. Try HAVOC. LOL. He was up all night in pain. Slept in our bed with us, tossing and turning and crying. He is a big HAM, so converstion piece in school, Huh, just wait. It will probably be in the school paper. Thanks and you have a great day yourself. Luis

Luis, So sorry to hear about your son. What a disappointment that must be for him - I'm sure he was very excited to be starting kindergarten, and now to have this happen right before... Not to make light of the subject, but at least you will be attempting kindergarten homework and not high school homework! The stuff they learn these days is tough! Hang in there! Anne
