Well, where has the summer gone. I can't believe how quickly time flies by. I have been trying to keep up on the Boards and realized that I haven't updated in while. I had my final consultation with Dr. Giles two weeks ago. The purpose of this visit was to make sure I had all of my i's dotted and t's crossed before we obtain approval with my insurance company. Well.... there were two pieces of paperwork that hadn't reached his desk yet and he wants me to have a gallbladder ultrasound to determine whether or not if my gall bladder needs to come out while I am have WLS. No big deal, the ultrasound wasn't going to hold up my paperwork up. I just need to get it scheduled soon (which reminds me - hee hee) Anyway, Dr. Giles informed me that he is taking the whole obesity program to another hospital, which means that I will be having my surgery in my hometown (which I am actually thrilled with) and that it probably won't be until Dec/Jan. If I look at the small picture, it sounds sooooo far away, however, the bigger picture tells a different story. I have so many things to keep me busy between now and then (including the holidays) that the time will fly by just like this summer did. I am a very patient person and I can wait. So, in the meantime, I will be waiting for my insurance approval and surgery date. This journey has been a little consuming lately, so maybe I can give my mind a rest and enjoy the fall (my favorite time of year) I am really looking forward to starting my new life in 2005 and I can wait. September 11th and 12th is a busy Board weekend. The dinner on Sat, a UCONN support group picnic on Sun and also the Mary Kay demo on Sun. I wi**** wasn't all in the same weekend because I can't do it all. After going back and forth with myself, I have decided to go to the Mary Kay demo on Sun. I won't be able to get out of work in time on Sat to go to the dinner (TARA - I EXPECT LOTS OF PICS) and the demo came up before the picnic so that is what I have decided to do. When it rains it pours. (SORRY DEB Mc - I THINK YOU ARE GOING TO THE DEMO THOUGH) At least I will get to meet some of you at the demo!! That's it for now. I am usually not one to ramble on like this. Have a great day! Phyllis

I have to agree with you. This summer has flown by. Probably because I had my surgery in the spring, and I've become so active I just don't stop. Your surgery will be here before you know it. That's great that you can have it in your hometown. Makes the drive home much better than the 1.5 one I had from New Haven. (Did I mention that 95 is extremely bumpy?) I'm looking forward to meeting you on the 12. I think it will be a lot of fun and a great way for some of us to meet. I will not be able to make the dinner either as the 11 is my dad's birthday. I'll be there in spirit for sure. Hope everyone had a great day, Maggie
