For the past two nights I have slept without using the C-pap machine! I have had to use this machine for exactly five years! Dr. Valin told me that if I lost 40lbs I could get rid of the machine...well, was he ever right...40lbs gone and the machine is too! So now I have been able to get rid of my BP pills and the C-Pap machine...two of my co-morbidities gone!

Joanie, Do you have a BP monitor at home? I do as my partner has BP problems and I bought one for her! LOL! She's a skinny little thing and she still has the BP problems...I tell you there's no stinkin' justice in this world. I would take my BP every morning and then decide whether or not I should take the meds. My doctor's office advised me to do this after I almost passed out when my BP dropped very low one day.

Kathy, I haven't had any apnea episodes-as reported by Sandy. I also note that I'm not waking up alot without the machine-this was one of the symptoms I had when I first went to get checked for apnea-I was waking up 28 times a night (on average-and that was the times I knew about).

I have no BP machine at home..but I work in a medical office and have access to it. It was 117/70 the other day... Dr. Arnanow told me to see my PCP...because this is a Beta Blocker and I have to be weaned off it...I should make the appt soon. Joanie

That's great Ann. What a relief it must have been for you to not have to use it. Yay for the co-morbidities going away. Congratulations and remember it only gets better. Maggie
