Hi everyone, I'm 1 week post-op today! I have been feeling really good and have been walking at least 1 mile a day since I came home from the hospital on Thursday. Saturday came and I felt pretty good and walked for 3/4 mile. Then I went with my family out to Walmart and to the grocery store. Sunday I got up and felt terrific, I walked 3/4 mile again and then we decided to go to the mall and finish up the school shopping. I still felt pretty good although I was having a little pain and decided to take a little pain medication and then sit and relax the rest of the night. Well I don't know what happened to me but I could not sleep to save my life and I ended up cleaning up the house( nothing really heavy though!) I was doing laundry at 3:30 this morning! I finally got to sleep arond 4:00am and then had to take my son to work at 8:30 am. I really felt lousy all day today. I did walk but have been kind of laying low today. I will remember from now on that I had major surgery and there is still a lot of healing to do! Wednesday I go to the Dr and will hopefully have the drain removed so I'm sure that will help me feel better. Sandy

Hi Sandy Congrats on your surgery! It only keeps getting better! I had my surgery in May, and I did the same thing that you did, when I was feeling ok, I pushed it. You definitely feel it the next day. Let me tell you, take advantage of taking it easy, because when I went back to work, it totally drained me. You did just have MAJOR surgery a week ago. Take it easy and make everyone else take care of the errands. You are starting a new life, you need to keep yourself in tip top shape! I look forward to hearing how you are doing. Meagan

Thanks Meagan, I know it will keep getting better. I think I have learned from my mistake and will not repeat what I did. My family has been wonderful and helpful but I guess that feeling of being MOM always comes through. Thanks for letting me know that you pushed it too! Sandy

I would say you over did it for sure. Remember to slow down and get your rest. Even though you feel great, your body needs it. I'm glad you're feeling well enough to be up and around, but be careful. Maggie

You need to rest!!!! I would do the walks but try and relax a bit the rest of the time. Your body needs rest to heal itself. Hope you feel better very soon. Joanne

Sandy Are you kidding me, one week post op, a full bottle of vitamins wouldn't have given you the energy you would need for the that weekend. You need to chill out in bed with the remote. Take it slow. Just getting in and out of the car must have been a killer. Your energy will come with rest, so get some will ya. Luis
