What Can I Expect?

I have my first appt. with Dr. Aranow tomorrow. It seems like I've been waiting forever for this appt. (actually, I started the process in March, so it definately FEELS like forever). What can I expect from this appointment? I'm getting a little nervous and anxious and was just looking for a little idea of what to expect and some reassurance. Thanks!

Hi Tammy, I had my first appointment with Dr Aranow last June 6th. I wrote list of questions to ask him to relate my health problem and it affects my health after surgery. I told him that I need an interpreter for the day of my surgery and recovery room too. Do not be surprise... Dr Aranow have his favorite toy ( palm pilot) to input in it while you are talking to him and also he took before picture from his palm pilot too. Make sure you bring close fmaily with you so he/she can ask him about your surgery esspecially your dad who worried about it after heard the lady in Ca. You will be fine :thmubsup: Dr Aranow will tell you how much you should lose weight (your goal) before he will do this surgery and your goal weight after surgery. I was nervous too...Dr. Aranow will make you feel comfortable. He makes you feel like you are his only patient! No question is unreasonalble to ask... Congratulations on this leg of your journey! I am so glad I had this surgery..and the time waiting felt so long..now I am seven weeks out..and THAT has gone so fast! Joanie

Hi Tammy! You'll have a great meeting with him, I'm sure. Remember to write down any questions, so you don't forget to ask. He'll do a lot of talking and a lot of listenting, but I swear, that appointment seems to go by so fast, you'll have your head spinning by the end.
