Hang in there sweetheart. Remember you just had MAJOR surgery. Everyone recovers at a different rate. Your body is slowing you down for a reason. It knows you are probably the get-up and go type and you might over-do it. While I know you are by no means, enjoying this time right now - you must take the time to rest. It's only been a week, honey! Definitely keep taking the liquid tylenol, there is nothing wrong with pain management. You WILL get through this and I can guarantee that in a couple of months, this will all be a distant memory. Thank you for taking the time to post though. That makes me smile! I am praying for you, and as always, sending good karma your way! Tara

Eileen, Congratulations on your surgery. I know what you are feeling...it's very NORMAL. I had my lap RNY on 7/21 and felt o****il the headache thing started, and I had lots of friends around to support me, but my head was pounding and I wanted to crawl in a hole and die! So, try to be good to yourself and take the time you need to heal. You made the right decision in having the surgery; it takes time to recover. We all heal at a different pace, so go easy on yourself, and you are by no means a wimp! You were very brave to have had the surgery. Do call your surgeon to be sure there isn't something more they can do for your pain and your headache. Good luck, and I'll keep you in my prayers and thoughts! JA

Sounds like a lot of great advice, so the only thing I want to add is CONGRATULATIONS on a successful surgery and take the rest step by step. Best wishes for a speedy recovery! Phyllis

Eileen, I am sorry you are having discomfort and feeling a little blue. It looks like you have gotten a lot of great advice from people who have been there, so hang in there, it sounds like you will be turning a corner real soon. I am glad you took the time to post though, it is nice to hear that the surgery went well. Take care and get some rest, Terri

Hi Eileen, First off I want to congratulate you and welcome you to the loser side... He he , I can say that now. I had the same thoughts. The pain was unbelievable. I had Open RNY and I am 2 weeks out today. I am just able to sleep on my side and a little bit on my belly. Certain movements still do hurt. But, My point is every day gets easier and easier. You'll keep feeling better. Give your body time to heal. This too shall pass. You'll be in my prayers. Best of luck to you. ~Julie~
