HEARD THE NEW ABOUT DR GILES????

I HAVE BEEN A PATIENT OF DR GILES FOR A YEAR AND A HALF NOW. I HAVE FINALLY EARNED APPROVAL FROM AETNA INSURANCE FOR MY SURGERY..WITH A DATE OF 10/6/04. HOWEVER...... WHEN I HEARD FROM THE OFFICE.. IT SEEMS THAT DR GILES IS CLOSING HIS PROGRAM AT UCONN HOSPITAL TO MOVE TO NEW BRITAIN GENERAL HOSPITAL. HE IS NO LONGER SCHEDULING SURGERIES PAST OCTOBER 1. TALK ABOUT BEING FUSTRATED... I AM WELL PAST THAT POINT. I AM HOPING TO HEAR TODAY IF I CAN BE SQUEEZED IN BEFORE HE LEAVES. WISH ME LUCK.

Wow! Does this mean NBGH will be performing wls? I wonder.....

I had my final eval last friday and heard the news. I am actually quite excited. I know it will be a few more months to wait, but NB is my home and I am very comfortable at that hospital. The time will fly as it always does!!

Hi Rebecca, Your right, Dr. Giles is moving the program to NBGH. It is a positive move, they are willing to do a lot for him with the program, plus devote specific people to work for only him. Right now, he is "shared" with general surgery. Our meetings will also be there, more details to follow on that. But this really will be a good thing, I am sorry you have to wait longer, but it is worth it! Our next meeting on Sept 12th is actually a picnic! At Winding Trails in Farmington. Please let me know if you are attending and how many guests you will bring. Please bring what you want to grill for your own troops and a dish to share with everyone. I need to know ages of children that will be coming. We will supply paper goods and charcoal. There is swimming, volleyball etc. This is all due to the generosity of one of our members. We are all also going to get disposable cameras to use and that Kim Bellavance has offered to donate. We are going to have a blast! See you there! Cheryl
