You're NOT a failure. You've taken an amazingly important step in feeling better as well as living better. Things WILL get better...anyone here will tell you that.
As for the walking, I think the most important thing is that you walk...go for 5 minutes and rest for one or two. Do another five and stop. Then go 10 and stop. Stretch BEFORE you start, if you haven't been, so you can wake those muscles up a little bit.
You'll be building yourself up slowly, but you'll be building stamina.
As for WORK, sometimes it's not much better having a job. There are times that mine makes me so crazy I have seriously considered walking out and not coming back. I'll tell you what I tell myself when I get crazed, although I will say that it doesn't always work: things are going the way they are supposed to go. You do what you can, and let God, Buddha, karma, whatever, handle the rest. There are things we can control - the rest of the time, we're just along for the ride and all we can do is hang on.
