Hello Germaine,

First congratulations on your weight loss and for keeping it off that is a great accomplishment.

Have you been seeing your surgeon each year since surgery and getting blood work done?

You may have a vitamin deficiency and or be anemic. Then you could discuss with him your problem with not continuing to lose weight and maybe see a dietician to help you out if the doctor finds out you do not have any physical problem with your pouch.

Are you taking your vitamins? Are you eating enough protien and drinking enough water and following the rules that you were given in the first year after surgery, like nothing to drink 30 minutes before a meal and 30-60 minutes after??. Can you exercise?

I would recommend seeing a  doctor asap because of your loss of energy and strength.

Let us know how you make out.

Take care

Sher

I am shocked to hear that you've had such problems with Dr. barba and his staff.  I have never had an appintment cancelled and have not had any problems.   But I am also very surprised that you say no other doctor will take you and is sick of cleaning up his messes.  As a doctor, that should not be they're response.  Seems a little strange to me . . . . .

Started off the same weight and down to about the same.  I did have a second surgery- Tummy tuck- in July. I need to get back to walking!  Probably would be nice to find people in the Middletown area who would be interested in that... Dave slacking off the exercise

I'm a big fan of being proactive in your own healthcare- so my advice to you- based on the experiences you are having w/Dr. Barba's office is to consult with another surgeon.  You need to determine if you hav any mechanical failures and get a professional opinion on what would be your the next step.  there are a variety of second surgery options as well as possible fixes for any mechanical failures you might be experiencing.  If hartford is convenient for you, perhaps you might get an appt with Dr. Tischler out of Hartford hospital.  He is very good.  I'm a pt of Dr. Aranow- so of course I recommend him as well. You do NOT need to stay with a surgeon that you are dissatisfied with.  You need to be treated with respect and apropriate medical concern for your issues.  Apparently, Dr. Barba's office is not able to offer that- so it's time to look elsewhere. good luck to you

Sorry to hear that- I cant say I'm surprised.  I don't think he takes on many (if any) patients from other surgeons that are having problems.  He's so busy with his own...I'm not sure how it would be possible.  But, at least you called and asked!   How abut Tischler @ Hartford Hosp. or the surgical group out of New Haven?  I'm sure you're frustrated, I know I would be.  Keep on plugging away and I'm sure you'll find someone who can see you for an evaluation.

Best,

Are you a tough patient to deal with?  It's just hard to believe that two of the most respected suegeons on these boards won't deal with you.  I'm not saying that it couldn't happen but it would be a mighty coincidence.  There are a bunch of surgeons in New Haven also.  Dr's. Valin and Bell are just two.
