Cat used Tummy for Trampoline!!!
This was one of the worries I had with having a cat and a dog. I am 10 days post op. I was sitting on my couch and my 13 lb cat decided he wanted to go sit on the other side of me. It happened so fast. He jumped, landed on my stomach where my incision is and then jumped off to the other side. My Yells were heard on the other side of my house by my Dad. Then I cried for about 5 or so minutes. It hurts alot but I think I got scared more than anything. Could that have hurt me at all inside? I saw so many Stars. Anyone have this experience this early out? Just curious. Thanks all.

Julie,
Hi. By now you probably feel better. I had a similar thing happen. I have three cats, but it was my 5 year old daughter who got me. I was maybe 5 days out from surgery and sleeping on our reclining couch, and she came out to snuggle with me in the morning. She leaned on me with her elbow to turn herself around, and dug it right into the incision on my left side. I too cried out in pain and was worried, but I was fine, just scared to hurt anything in there.
If it is still bothering you this morning you should call your doctor.
Take care,
Anne
A suggestion for those who have cats/dogs, etc. I used a little pillow as a barrier to my stomach, whenever I sat down. I kept that thing on me 100% of the time and I also used it as a brace when I stood up.
I have a Jack Russell Terrier who loves to on my stomach. As a deterrent I taped an soda can with pennies in it to the pillow. He can't stand the can! This kept him away and the pillow protected me from his sister who isn't bothered at all by the can.
I kept that pillow around for the first four weeks!
