Straws?

I know post op I was told not to sip with a straw...will I ever be able to use a straw again?? I am almost seven weeks out...I really need to call the dietician and make an appt...seems I have lots of questions these days...As always, thanks for your input. Joanie

Hi Joanie, I've always used a straw. I've heard some say that they have been told not to, but I don't remember my surgeon mentioning it. I tend to sip with straw - I get less in per sip with a straw than without, so I never had any problems. I have always used straws, it helped me "slow" down with my drinking. All docs are different!!!! Carmen
