Six Weeks Out
Yesterday was my six week anniversary. So far I have lost 40 lbs. and have dropped from size 30/32 to size 22/24. I've been able to drag clothes out of the cellar and wear things I haven't worn in years! WOOO HOOO!
I have not yet vomited and I hope to keep this record up! I hate feeling sick to my stomach, so I take pains to avoid situations that could cause this. I have eaten a little too fast, but my stomach tells me immediately and I put the fork/spoon down.
I have been tracking my food intake, exercise, etc at Fitday.com and it has really helped me to keep on track. I highly recommend it to everyone. I bought the program, but the free program is sufficient for most people's needs.
I have had my ups and downs as some of you know. I had troubles with my blood pressure because the medicine was too strong for me and my BP kept bottoming out...as soon as I figured that one out...no more problems...and now-no more BP pills! YAY!
I have also had problems with feeling weak, woozy and light-headed. I was blaming this on low blood sugar and Debbie (at Dr. Valin's) agreed with me. However, we were BOTH wrong. I finally figured out that what was happening to me was associated with my seasonal allergies. As soon as I started taking the allergy meds, I felt 100% better!
Now I'm just having some problems with my back/hips. I'm going to my PCP tomorrow to have this checked out and to get a referral to Physical Therapy (as suggested in our support group meeting). PT will help me design an appropriate work out program given my hip, back and knee problems. I think I have been doing too much walking on pavement and that is what is bothering my hips/back. Anyway, PT should be able to help me with this.
I also can finally drink water without feeling pain as it goes down and bad cramps when it hits the pouch. YAY! It was so hard getting proper hydration when this was happening. I love drinking water and this phenomena was quite disappointing. I'm so glad that's over!
Already my thighs are not rubbing as they used to. I can fit into the seats at Dodd Stadium. I feel a lot more agile and I notice that I don't ram into things around the house like I used to. I don't dread getting on the scale at the doctor's office, in fact, I'm EAGER to climb on!
BP pills gone, huge clothes gone...next up...CPAP machine! Also next up, I've signed up to take golf lessons and will be taking dog agility lessons with my dog once again this fall.
Way to go Anne
Don't you just love all the changes? It still amazes me on a daily basis how much my life has changed. Getting off those meds is a great thing, hope you get rid of the CPAP! I still have mine and some of my meds but I am working at it........ Will we see you on the PGA Tour next year??? Keep up the great work.
