Hi there, This is the third morning in a row that I have woken up with Charlie Horses in my calfs ( )which I know is from no longer taking my Potassium pill which they took me off and keeping me on my fluid pill. Is there anything I can eat/drink that I can naturally get more potassium in my body. I am seeing the Doc friday and didn't want to bother them with this if I didnt have to. Any ideas. Hurtin over here. Thanks ~Julie~

Hello Julie, I am so happy to see you on Ct Mesage Board. I emailed you other issues. Have you tried to use Nectar Protien drink? I know they have potassium 120 mg Hugs Kathy K

Morton's light salt mixture is a great way to get your potassium.

Bananas and I think spinach are high in potassium if you want to eat it rather than drink it!! Ouch - those charlie horses do hurt!!!!! I also found this article -- towards the end it lists a bunch of foods that are high or moederate in potassium. Good luck!!! http://nhnh.essortment.com/potassiumfoodh_rkyn.htm

Julie, Unfortunately you are not really able to eat most of the foods that have potassium in them at this point. Don't hesitate to call the doctor's office. That is what they are there for. I do know that my mom has had alot of problems with leg cramps and they had her drink tonic water (there is sugar free) for the quinine and some Orange Juice. Please check with your doctor though as you shouldn't have the carbonation and the sugar may be too much for you. Don't suffer in silence You are such a breathe of fresh air!! Linda
