My surgery was August 2, only 15 days out of surgery. I am fine still a little sore around my left insicision, and I am starting to feel hungry. Although I have lost 8 pounds I have not lost any weight since the 9th of August, not a pound. Yes I am exercising and drinking my protein, I am following my diet to a T but not a pound lost, did anybody else experience this? I thougtht I would at least lose a 1/2 pound a week. Any encouragement would be helpful Thanks Poundless....Kimberly R.

Hi Kimberly, I looked at your profile and saw your BMI was 37. I have heard that people with low BMI's, (less to lose) lose slower than people with higher BMI's. Be patient, it will happen. Your body is probably trying to catch up, that's all. Anne

Hi Kimberly First off, Congrats on losing the 8 pounds. That in itself is a great for being 15 days out. One thing you need to remember is that everyone is different and will lose differently. Once your body sees that all is going to get to eat is that little food you are giving it, it will start to eat the fat and soon you will see the pounds dropping. Hitting plateaus is something you are going to have to deal with. We all have hit them and for some of us for longer period of time. Be patient, it will happen and you will see it start to melt off. Let your nutrionist know too. Maybe they can adjust your diet somehow. Good luck and be patient. Luis

Hi Kimberly, I agree, I heard the lower the BMI..a slower weight loss may occur. Don't get down...eight pounds is great. I am a slow loser too..(well, slower than others).. and I just keep plugging along. Just wondering, where did you have your surgery..I have a friend near Wtby who was looking for a local surgeon. Everyone wonders if they ae the one in a million person who has the surgery and does not lose weight. Do yourself a favor.....throw out the scale and weight yourself at the Dr's office for the first year. Think of this in simple terms..... No number ever made you happy before, and no number ever will now. Peter

Hi stranger, Congratulations on your weight loss. You should be very proud. Try not to get discouraged. It will come. It is true that when you have less to lose the weight loss does happen at a slower pace. My Doctor advised me not to even look at the scale and even though it's hard, I have not. The way I see it is we have been slaves to food for so long. Let's not be slaves to the scale. Keep your chin up. Remember Walk, Walk, Walk and drink drink drink. Your Friend, ~Julie~ P.S. We must get together and catch up real soon.
